Woody, Mrs. Mattie Lou, a resident of Lanett, AL, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Lanett, AL with Pastor Louis Upshaw officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Lanett, AL. Davis Memorial Mortuary of Valley directing.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 1:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel.

I am deeply saddened to hear the passing of such a beloved woman who has always been a intricate part of my youth and adult life. Cousin Mat Lou I bid farewell farewell...Rest now.

I was just there with her hours prior to her passing. The Lord lead me there to pray for her. I knew it was time. I leaned over her bed and said, "Go home if you want." God was waiting. I left sad but sure where she would spend eternity. I will miss her in her gardens and those wonderful cakes. What a wonderful lady she was. Another flower has been plucked from the valley. Her season was up. A new one has begun. Psalms 46.
