Mrs. Mealie Mae Florence was born March 15, 1943 to Jimmy Lee and Leonia Davis Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Valley, Alabama. She retired from West Point Stevens after 28 years of service in Valley, AL. She was currently employed by Wal-Mart Super Center in Valley, AL.

Mealie, a member of Eagles Nest Cathedral Church in West Point, GA, was a Christian woman. She was a fun, loving, compassionate person and was a friend to all. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Her strong faith carried her throughout life.

Mrs. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lula Mae Frazier and Jeannie Mae Billingslea and one great grandchild, Master Pruitt. Her survivors include: her husband, James Oneal Florence, Sr., Valley, AL; three daughters, Debra Glenn and Chyristal “Jill” (Phillip) Douglas both of Valley, AL and Armealia (Antwane) Robinson, LaGrange, GA; one son, James Oneal (Delilah) Florence, Jr., Valley, AL; one step-son, Larry Bailey, Atlanta, GA; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Katherine (Elijah) Marshall, Valley, AL; two brothers-in-law, Jessie Louis (Addilaye) Florence, Fayetteville, NC and Joe Willie Florence, Scottsdale, AR; one sister-in-law, Betty Black, Valley, AL; two god-sons; five god-daughters; and, a host of other loving relatives and friends including a special friend, Alice Murry.
