|Let the memory of our mom, "Iya Yaba" be with us forever.|
It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the homegoing of our dear Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Mother In-Law, Aunt (Anti) and Friend - Mrs Simbiat Olufunke Anike Eso - Nee Bakare (Omo Abu Olowo, Abu Olododo) who slept in the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2012. While our hearts are broken by this sad news, we will continue to celebrate her life and legacy!
"Iya Yaba", "Mommy Tom Tom", "Alhaja", "Anti", "Berra Mommy", "Iya Oko mi" and the list goes on, as she was fondly called by different people, was simply Mom to us! Our mom who worked for many years at the NIgerian High Commission in London before returning home, was first a homemaker and then a Business Woman and a devoted mother to Dele (Shido), Omokayode (Kay), Abi (Biodun) and Toyin (Oluwatoyin Alake), their spouses, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She touched the lives of many! She will be remembered for willingness to give to others selflessly of her time, presence and money, and her equisite fashion style! Our mom had a passion for life, beauty, elegance and fashion. In her later year, she became a Christian, having given her life to Christ. We are eternally thankful for this decision she made to have a relationship with God. Although, our mom is no more on this side, We will never forget her legacy and the sacrifices she made for us!
"Oh how we wish Mama was here today. To see all the blessings we have Yet somehow you know that She is Guiding us on our paths."
"May all the hopes and aspirations she had for you come to pass in your life time in Jesus name,
Wherefore seeing YOU also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset YOU, and run with patience the race that is set before u, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of your faith;"
"Abi, may the memories of your mother always bring a loving smile to your heart. May her soul rest in peace."
"It's been a long long time; I was looking forward to seeing her again. But now she is gone and resting in peace in the bosom of the Lord.
I pray for Abi and her children that God will give them all, the strength to deal with their loss. God knows best and mama is free from any sufferings. ."
"Moma! was a women with a bright smile. who fed all the children everything we said they couldn't have.whenever she came the children would pick up a extra five pounds. Abi and I would get so mad and then we would laugh, mom didn't care about what we was saying. she continue to walk Abisola to Walgreens everyday to get something sweet. Lol my greatest moment with mom was shopping with her:)"
"I remember Mama from my days of popping around the house at Ibikunle Street. She was always welcoming, charming, and caring. She will be greatly missed not just by her family, but also from those of us who were fortunate to have known her. A lovely caring person has now departed but leaves us with good memories, lovely children and grandchildren. May her soul rest in peace."
"Many accomplishments, so very many successes, a wealth of hopes and dreams fulfilled, days well-lived and now a legacy to celebrate. May sweet memories of the gem that was your mother, encourage you at this time."

"I never met "IYA YABA" when she was on this side of the divide howeveri met one of her fruits - BIODUN ESO-Adeleke. Since a fruit does not fall too far from the tree that begets it & we know a tree by its fruits, so I can say confidently that I KNOW MRS OLUFUNKE ESO alias Mama Yaba as a hardworking, serious minded, God fearing and a lover of education who has in deed impacted lives. RIP ma"
"Mummy your passing was one loss to much for me this year but I console myself in the knowledge that you are in a better place for to be absent from this body is to be present with God where there is no more pain or sorrow. Rest in peace mummy. I promise to take care of your sons."

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone.”"
