Kertrece Vertavious Florence, the daughter of James O’Neal and Delilah Madden Florence, Jr. was born January 4, 1990 in Chambers County, Alabama.  Trece accepted Jesus as her personal Savior at an early age at Faith Mission (now Eagle’s Nest Cathedral).  She was an Active Art of “God’s Dancing Angels”, Junior Usher and Stepper.  She loved to praise and worship God in dance, modeling and ripping the runway. “And couldn’t she do it!”  She was a High Stepper in her high heel shoes. She loved fashion!

Kertrece was a 2008 graduate of Valley High School where she was a cheerleader.  She attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama where she was an Elite Model.  She later transferred to Point University, West Point, GA majoring in Biology.  She was employed with Sally’s Beauty Supply in Montgomery, Alabama.

Trece was engaged to Terrance Horton.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Mealie Jackson Florence and her maternal grandfather, Roosevelt Madden. Kertrece departed this life on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Those who will cherish her loving memories include:  a beautiful bouncing baby girl, Autumn Kaleigh Horton;  wonderful and devoted parents, James and Delilah Florence, Jr., Valley, AL; four brothers, Eddricos Dunn, Valley, AL, Mario (Chantell) Florence, Alexander City, AL, Kendrick Florence (whom she dearly loved as her best friend) Valley, AL and TyMarion Florence, Sierra Vista, AZ; one sister, Angelica Pruitt, Valley, AL; a loving grandmother, Annie J. Stallworth, Lanett, AL; a loving grandfather, James O’Neal Florence, Sr., Valley, AL; her fiance’, Terrance Horton, Atlanta, GA; special cousins, Tomeshia Baker, Montgomery, AL and Richard Hopkins, Auburn, AL; three aunts, Debra Glenn, Jill (Phillip) Douglas and Armealia (Antwane) Robinson all of Valley, AL; one uncle, Larry Bailey, Atlanta, GA; nephews, JaQuinton, Terique and Teriquel; devoted friend, Glenda Baker-Hinton, Birmingham, AL; and, a host of great-uncles, great-aunts, other loving relatives and friends.
