She was born to the late David and Emma Lizzie Billingslea Jackson, the fourth oldest of seven siblings.

Her survivors include: a loving daughter, Ella Smith, Forest Park, GA; grandson, Alonzo Smith, McDonough, GA; two brothers, Leon Jackson, Chattanooga, TN and Frank Jackson, LaGrange, GA; one sister, Daisy B. Gilliam, West Point, GA; and countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
