From SVCS Memory Book, 1993 (somewhat edited)

January 4, 2016

Nancy Jean (nee Sweezey) was born in 1948 to Leonard and Lenora Bowes Sweezey in the city of Oneida, Madison County, NY, the third of eight children (sisters Trudy and Pat, brother Billy, sister Joann, brothers Mikell and Tommy, and sister Julie). The family lived in Utica for several years before moving to Jacksonville, FL. Nancy attended Englewood High in Jax for her freshman year, sophomore in Bridgewater, NY and her final two years at SVCS where she graduated 4th in a class of 96, She attended college at SUNY-Buffalo with a goal of eventually attending law school and then "becoming President of the US" (really, she said that!) Instead she moved to California and, after getting her AA in Electrical Engineering, she was employed by HUD, where she met her life partner, Linda Campbell. When Linda was tapped to work in the Clinton Administration, both moved to Virginia which they hated. Soon they returned to Eugene, OR where they were able to build their "dream house" on the water and shared their lives with "the best dog ever" (see picture at right)
