Her Life

Eulogy

November 22, 2011

Narcisa Rodriguez-Garcia passed away at age 85 in Albuquerque, NM on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 peacefully in her sleep.
Narcisa was born on Friday, October 29, 1926 in Mexico. She was predeceased by her husband Lorenzo Garcia. Narcisa specialized as a seamstress in Mexico. Everyone in her neighborhood would go to her home because of her exuberant skills as a tailoress. She was very proficient and timely in her work, a natural. Her hobbies included knitting, crochet, and gardening. Narcisa had a green thumb for anything she could grow in the yard and was always very proud of her work.
Narcisa was a very strong and independent woman and she passed this skill set onto her children and grandchildren. For many years she was a single mother of four children and she put her talents to work to provide for her family. Narcisa was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, definitely a role model worth looking up to. She carried with her a very tender love and enjoyed spending time with her family. When she first moved to the United States she was in the care of her daughter, Maria Hunt. The time there while short, was well spent with family and friends. She spent the last years of her life living with her son, Victor Garcia, in Albuquerque, NM, where she continued being a devout Jehovah Witness and pursuing her hobbies for personal fulfillment. Narcisa spent her days knitting, crocheting, and gardening. She spent her evenings volunteering in and with her church as long as her health permitted her to. When she could no longer do so, her loving son, Victor, filled her role. He continues to fill her role as he is strong in their faith as well.

Narcisa is survived by: her 4 children; Maria Rosa Hunt, Juan Garcia-Rodriguez, Victor Garcia, and Ernesto Garcia-Rodriguez; 11 grandchildren; Adriana and Sergio Martinez, David Hunt, Alan and Kari Hunt, Marcy Hunt and Alan Bridges, Angie Garcia and Brandon, Windy Garcia, Osbaldo Garcia, Ruth Perez, Moises and Libni Garcia, Juan Carlos Garcia-Ramos, and Ernesto Garcia-Ramos; and 14 great grandchildren; Robert Aguilar IV, Vanessa Aguilar, Gabriela Martinez, Izabela Martinez, Brandon Hunt, Katelynn Hunt, Garrett Bridges, Giovanni Garcia, Elizabeth Garcia, Johnathen Rivera, Kailub Rivera, Dominic Garcia, Nathaniel Perez, and Karen Perez.

Narcisa will be cremated on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Her ashes will remain in the care of Victor Garcia until her burial in El Paso, TX. The date of her burial is yet to be determined.
