Nathaniel’s life journey began when he became the third child of seven children born to the late Mr. Turner & Elsie Jenkins Cousin of Troup County Georgia. His siblings Alton, Barbara Ann, Deborah, and Robert preceded him in death.
Nathaniel was known for his friendly smile and never meeting a stranger. He received Christ during his youth and was baptized at St. Paul AME in Hogansville, Georgia, later moving to Boston, Mass.
Nathaniel loved sports, even though he wasn’t an official coach on the field or basketball court, he was definitely an unofficial coach from the sofa.
Nathaniel would frequently reflect on his youth and his participation in sports.
During high school he played basketball and according to him he was the best; lingering in the air when shooting the basketball. Per Nathaniel, he was better than Michael Jordan; an avid golfer who taught Tiger Woods the sport; a semi pro boxer and the fastest track participant on his high school team. In three words Nathaniel loved sports.
On a serious note Nathaniel has received numerous awards, certificates and trophies as a golfer.
Nathaniel is loved and respected by his family, friends and colleagues; his dignity and reserve were endearing. A devoted husband, and father.
He leaves to cherish his memory a blended family, wife Rubenia, daughters Marcia, Montreal (Mckinley Scott), Lagrange, Georgia; Tammy, McDonough, GA; Bisceglia Aristide (Mikelson), Boston, Mass; Janee Reese, Stone Mountain, Ga; Christine Reese, Ellenwood, Ga. Sons Cletis Cousin, Lagrange, Ga; Derrick Reese (L’Teese), Hapeville, Ga. 10 grandchildren who are the love of his life: Ashley, Apri, Ronrekay Gilbert, Ontrtia, Jeffery, Jakobe, Cerina, Shamar, Chanee and Nicholas.Two great grandchildren and two beloved brothers, Napolean and David Cousin both of Boston Mass. Five sister-in laws: Catherine, Toni and Gloria of Atlanta, Ga; Judy, Stone Mountain, Ga; and Patricia, of Alabama.A devoted father and mother-in-law Lewis, and Shirley Barton. and one special fervent, enthusiastic and devoted cousin, Terry Cousin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
