it's hard to believe that u left us seven years ago today... i miss u so much and still find myself picking up the phone to call u and talk to u. i wish i could tell u that I love u in person but i'm sure u already know just how much.  i love u so much and miss u just the same.

On ur birthday, i think of all the good times u, mom, Kim, bren and myself all had together. it's hard to believe u'd be 72 today if God hadn't called u home.  wish we had one more birthday to spend with u, but then again i know we'd always want just one more. i'll always love u and i miss u more than words can describe. happy birthday daddy!!!

As Mom, Kimberly, Brenda and myself look back on our time with you, we realize that our time with you was short but every moment was special in its own way. You loved the 4 of us so much and you showed us that every day even as you got sicker and weaker. As you took your last breath, we felt a piece of us leave with you but we know you're still with each of us everyday. We love you!!!

It's Mom and Kim's favorite thing to call me little Vern because I remind them of you- I'm sure you get a laugh out of me driving Mom crazy. To this day, when she can't find something, she still says you moved it. I know you're still with us because on a windless day, the porch swing rocks back & forth. It's comforting to know you're in a place where you aren't in pain. We love & miss you!

Daddy's Babies

June 15, 2012

You look so proud standing there beside your wife holding your twins...  The love that was in your eyes that day was the love that we saw in your eyes each and every day.  I wish there was a day that I could sit there and feel your arm around me like that again.  I miss you so much but I know that you're close.

Kimmy's Wedding

June 14, 2012

Tammy and I stood by Kimmy's side as she repeated her wedding vows. We knew you couldn't physically be there to walk her down the aisle, but we knew you would be there in spirit. As a gift for Kimmy, I wrote a poem for her to remember you were with her the best way you could. The poem is titled "Walk With Her" and it was hung at the end of the aisle. That's what Mom is holding in the picture and now the poem hangs in Kimmy's house.

Kimmy's Wedding

Dad we know you were there in spirit that day. Mom did for you what she knew you couldn't do yourself... This was taken as she was walking Kimmy down the beach, just before she walked her down the aisle to give her away.
