ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Nathan Simpson, 37, born on May 20, 1976 and passed away on April 21, 2014. We will remember him forever. Nathan was a Warrior until the end, He battled a rare form of stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. Most people only have a 1% change of lasting 6 months after this diagnosis, our warrior made it 3 years. Even then it was not the cancer that took him from us, but the radiation damage from the treatment. In the end his suffering finally stopped and for 3 days before he passed he felt peace. I was by his side as he took his last breath and I know he is now pain free but still by my side- watching me and our precious baby boy, Farewell My Love, you are gone but will never be forgotten.

5 years in the blink of an eye. When certain songs are played memories wash over me. You are not forgotten, my dear friend. Continue to watch over us all. We love and miss you.

Growing up, Nate was always smiling! It sounds like this has continued into his adult life. I won't forget his purposefully off-key voice singing back-up to Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler" as we drove around town in my brother Chad's Ford Tempo. "You gotta know when to hold 'em" NATE: "WHEN TO HOLD 'EM!" :) Thanks for the many laughs, Nate.
My sincere sympathy goes out to all of his family. May you find peace at this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers have been with Nathan and family for the past 3 years. It's so hard to think of someone you have known since he was a little boy, suffering so much. Rest in peace dear Nathan.

I was many miles away and never got to know Nate well but he always had a smile in spite of pain and most of all he showed his love by the way his eyes lit up when Keila and Kai were around. Rest in Peace Nate.

It has unfortunately been many years since I last saw Nate (well, always Nathan to me) but such is the way of things for out-of-state cousins, especially once everyone gets to the age where "summer vacation" is replaced by "summer jobs" and there are all sorts of seemingly more important things to do. On the other hand, not so much time has passed that childhood memories have been forgotten yet, from back when grown-up worries were the last things on our minds.

RIP, Nathan - nothing more to worry about.

Nate and I played soccer together along with many others. We started at a young age and played together throughout high school. He was a great teammate and friend. RIP Nate.

I am also a high school classmate of Nate's and my parents were old friends of the Simpsons. I just wanted to express my sincerest condolences to Nate's family and to all those that were dear to him. Seeing a loved one face cancer is beyond painful, and given how young Nate was, must have felt incredibly unfair. May others' love for all of you, and especially for Nate, ease the pain of your loss as much as is possible. My thoughts are with you.

Nate was a great guy, funny and full of laughter. He was also a good sport and friend. We cut class in college to go pierce my ears again. I kinda convinced him to do it too. I think Brent was there too. Then, sometime passed and we pierced them again! You were truly blessed to have him apart of your family. My condolences and love go to family and friends.  RIP Nate

Nathan was a funny guy and fun to hang around as kids. I remember the times Brent invited us over to hang out and have fun in high school and I still hear his laughter. He was a trouper all those years with going through all of the treatment but he always kept positive. Awhile back Nate messaged me and said how he thanked me for keeping him so positive when he had his bad days. Even though over the course of this past year we didn't keep in as much contact, I was glad he appreciated my well wishes and helped to keep him upbeat. He will be forever missed.
