Nicola was born in hospital in Lanark, a 7lb 2oz baby (breech delivery.) I was 5yrs older and a bit jealous of all the attention she got, but soon she became my cheeky, funny and beautiful wee sister. My best friend. She was quite clever, although she didn't like school very much, but she was popular and had lots of friends. She loved listening to and playing music, we used to sing along with the songs on the radio, we would write down all the words to our favourite songs and sing them over and over again until we knew them by heart and she was a good singer.. much better than me. Those were some of the best times of my life, being sisters together. We did argue a lot, like most siblings, but we could never stay mad at eachother for very long as she couldn't stay quiet long enough to pull off the silent treatment... wee chatter-box she was. In 1997 @ age 16, she became a mum to a gorgeous wee girl. She was so happy in her own house with her fiancé and daughter and she was a natural at being a mummy. I was so so proud of her, we all were. Sadly, less than 2 weeks before her 19th birthday, she suddenly, tragically, passed away. We were devastated by her passing, still are. She was my wee sister and my best friend, I miss her every day and she will always be in my heart, never far from my thoughts and my soul remains incomplete.
