I only knew Nancylee for two semesters when I was going to USF but she made such a huge impression on me it was at a time when she was going back-and-forth to Pine Mountain Lake with her friend and associate Terry and I was a student at USF and would in the afternoons pick up Guy from Stuart Hall and we go across the street to 2275 Broadway where Nancy had a beautiful apartment on the fifth floor I believe with sweeping views of the Golden Gate bridge and I would help Guy with his homework and fix him a snack and wait for Nancylee to return home and then repeat again and again. She was a great lady and guy was a good kid and we had fun.

I met NancyLee when she signed up for Homebound Services through the Library. It was a pleasure to bring her the very interesting books she requested. She had a great mind and wit.We talked about our families, single parenthood, politics, the challenge of health issues and so much more. When she decided to just use our online services I missed her company. I was lucky to know her.

Nancy and I became friends quickly but sadly this happened near the end of her struggles. Her sharp wit and worldly knowledge could carry any conversation and she always was eager to share thoughts and ideas. She was fun to talk with and she showed me kindness and respect. In so many ways Nancy would remind me of my mother too. Her passing leaves her family and friends with sad but lovely memories. Rest in peace Nancy. I know that we will meet again.

I am so glad to have been able to stop by & visit Nancy when I made a special trip home to see my parents. We talked and laughed and she encouraged & motivated me. My mother was her caregiver but talked about her like family. I will miss hearing about Nancy & I send my condolences to the family.

Mrs. Finley, as I referred to her as a child, will always be remembered as a hard working mom. She inspired me to become a hard working woman in order to succeed in life.

My Beautiful Sister,
You will never know how much I admired you. Your incredible strength and accomplishments are truly unbelievable. You managed to raise five wonderful children and work outside the home in a world that was often, not good to women. When I needed you, you were there and taught me to strive for things I never thought I could undertake. I am so very proud to be your sister. Go in peace and know that you will always be in my heart.

My friend for over 40 years. I already miss our weekly phone conversations, sharing the joys of our respective children, the good times we had in SF and how amazing and blessed our lives have been. I am so grateful that you have been my "kindred spirit". You have left a most important "Legacy", your children and their families. I love you forever...kiddo

Darbi - I never knew your mom, nor do I know your siblings - but just from this lovely memorial page and all of the pictures I certainly can see what a very special woman she was. Someone who loved her family and brought love and joy into each one of your lives. So many great memories for you to hold onto during this very difficult time. My deepest condolences to you all........

Aunt Nancy - You were such an amazing woman. I looked up to you more than you probably know. I remember visiting you in SF, NYC, Pasco and you were so smart, beautiful, and glamorous! You inspired me to dream big and live out loud. As I grew, I realized how challenging it must have been to raise 5 kids, work so hard, and move up the ladder when so few women had opportunities. What adventures you had while raising an incredible family! And now you're on the biggest adventure of all. Godspeed Auntie. I love you.

Mom, I will miss you every day. I feel so lucky to have you as a mom. Our life was so fun, you took us all on such a great ride. You were optimistic always and taught us so much on overcoming diversity in our lives. Raising 5 children was no easy feat and many times I know the burdens on you were large. I admire you and will always hold you in my heart. Until we meet again mom, I love you.

We will miss you Nana. Thanks for so many great times we had together,  Darres and I followed Nana to NY to live and work. Nana always making sure we had a good time, Nana would have big crab feeds , take us to Carnage Hall or just a Sunday afternoon at the movies. After Nana retired we all went .River rafting and train rides in Idaho, she loved a good adventure and were always game for having fun.. You treated your grandchild so well, with magazine prescriptions, videos and sending them little notes in the mail.  You were the best mother in law i could have asked for. You maybe gone but you will never be forgotten . God Bless
