On February 16th 1920 Mr. Nolen was born to the late Arties Stringer and Mae Willie Davis Stringer.

He was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church where He served as a Deacon and sung in the Senior Choir and was very active in Sunday School.

Mr. Stringer worked for 40 plus years at Eagle Phenix Textile Mill. The mill was distinctive because it produced over 100 varieties of cotton and woolen goods.

He enjoyed doing things for others, like being the neighborhood taxi and visiting the sick. He was a great conversationalist, and enjoyed fishing.

His survivors include: loving and devoted son, Bobby (Jeanette) Sanks, Salem, AL; sons, Ephesians Strickland and Jessie J. (Tanya) Strickland III both of Opelika, AL; five grandchildren, Quaneshia Sanks, Opelika, AL, Jocelyn Strickland, Eric Strickland, Chad Strickland and Jessie James Strickland all of Opelika, AL;one great-granddaughter, Zyliah "Strawberry" Sanks, Salem, AL and a host of nieces, nephews other loving relatives and friends including a special friend, Mary Emma Davis, Salem, Alabama.

Mr. Nolen Stringer, a resident of Salem, Alabama, died Sunday, December 5, 2010 in East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) from Mountain Springs Baptist Church, Salem, AL with Pastor George E. Rampey officiating.

Interment: New Hope CME cemetery in Salem AL.
