The Seasons of Life
“To everything there is a season”.

A Time to be born:  Oliver’s roots are deeply entrenched in the St. Marks’ Community. He was born November 16, 1928 to the late Mr. Wilbur and Annie Mae (Dean) Thompson.  He received his elementary and high school education in the St. Marks’ Community and Grantville, Georgia.  He later furthered his education using the GI Bill.

A Time to Live:  Upon reaching manhood, he began his family and Christian journey.  He married the late Joyce Ruth Lindsey and unto this union three girls were born.  He served his country during the Korean conflict.  Oliver was a life member of White Plains UMC Church and served faithfully.  To better provide for his family, they relocated to Hartford, CT.   He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft until he returned to Georgia.  He continued employment at Georgia Woodcraft (Mead) until retirement.

A Time to Die:  27 February 2013 at home.  He leaves memories to the following:  daughters~Sylvia Johnson (Michael) and Cassandra Thompson; stepson~Darrell Adams; grandchildren~Kiara Huguley and Desron Thompson (Tamika); great-grandchildren~ Atlantis Thompson and Kaylee
Thompson; sisters~Frances Woodard, Ambra Jean Swanson, Annette Partridge (Will) and Carrie Combs; brothers~ Wilbur Thompson, Jr. (Betty Jo) and Leon Thompson (Alicestine); sister-in-laws~Katie Williams, Bertha Thompson and Mable Lindsey;

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons~Cynthia Thompson, James Grissom and Gary Robinson; a sister and two brothers~ Mary Dean, Clifford and Bobby Lee Thompson.
