A LIFE WELL SPENT

Olori regina Obafunmilayo Olayisodar was born in 1919.  Her father was Chief Joshua Kore Baderin Ajepe, a native of Ido-Ekiti and her mother Madam Abigail Adesemoye Ajepe.

She started her elementary educaion at St. Paul Anglican School Igbara-Oke in 1926, as her father was transfered she had to move with him, thus she schooled at Ifon, Ondo and Benin city.  After her standard six ducation in 1936, she took up a teaching appointment at a public school now known as the Odo-Ido Community Primary School in 1937 at Ido-Ekiti.

Mama was a slim beautiful lady and attracted many suitors but on the intervention of her father, the choice was the newly installed Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olayisade II to have mama has his wife.  They were married in 1939.  They were very happy together. On the instance of her husband she resigned her teaching appointment in 1940 and became a full-time home maker.

Some of the people who passed through mama's pupilage are Chief J.O. Abe, Chief Adebayo Akinyele, Prof. Ayoola Olatunde, Primate Bishop J.O. Ademitola, Mr. Ebun Layokun and Mr. Ojo Fasuyi.

Though mama gave up her teaching job, she did not become idle.  She engaged in trading business in a moderate way, she took up catering work supplying food to the students of th then Community Secondary Modern School, Ido-Ekiti.

Mama's religious life is worthy of emulation, her father - Chief J.K. Ajepe, the Bale of St. John's Church, Ido-Ekiti was a dedicated christian.  Baba had four children who are clergy men serving in the Anglican Church as Reverend, Canon and Archdeacon.

With the christain background and religious upbringing, she was baptised as a baby at St. Paul's Church Igbara-Oke in 1921 and confirmed at St. John's Church in 1948.  After marriage, mama took it upon herself to sweep all the surrounding of St. John Church every Sunday morning.  She later joined the Cherubium and Seraphim Church in 1964.  She was a mighty pillar of St. Moses C&S Church of Zion, Oke-igbala at Ido-Ekiti.  mama's service to god was rewarded by the priviledge given to one of her children to found the Holy Order of the C7S Church Movement, Surulere District, Ojodu Branch

Mama's faith is deeply rooted in Christ Jesus.  Her favourite song is igbagbo mi duro lori, eje ati ododo Jesu......  God was generous to Mama in the provision of very good health.  Mama took delight in walking, there was hardly anywhere too far for mama to walk.  She is hardworking and was very supportive in the care of her grand children and great grand children.

On her social life, she was a memeber of the Morning Star Club of Igbara-Oke and is a member of Egbe Emilere of Ido-Ekiti.

Mama's life was full of praises to God for sparing her life to a ripe old age of 95 years.  Olori R.O. Olayisade is blessed with 6 hardworking children all alive grandchildren and great grandchildren.
