"For the short time we knew you, you show-cased Christ Jesus. You were meek, gentle, loving, caring, you persevered, endured hardship (worked hard both in the vineyard and in business) and you were honest. we have no doubt, you are before the His throne enjoying the illumination and serenity of heaven. You obeyed and you were all He said we should be. You have gone to rest. All these tributes are therefore not for you but for us to learn and covet the good works you did. We may forget you in a while but the foot prints are all over. We shall see you when our time here is up be His grace. We pray that God will continually be the father of your children."

"Pastor Femi,

It is still very hard to believe that you are gone,. I am saddened, but I know that you need your rest. You've always been busy helping people, whether it was praying with my family, giving us support or just counseling us when we had our disputes.

I'll miss the times Ms. Kemi and yourself would invite the church over to your house, "just because", sometimes it was no special occasion, it was just because you wanted to spend spend time with us. I appreciate that, you always made us feel like family. I'll miss watching the football games on Sunday and yelling at the TV during the game when the teams were losing. Or when we played UNO and you would get so upset when we'd double teamed you and put down "Draw Fours" and you'd be the only one left with a whole stack of cards. You always made us laugh when we came around.

I'm grateful for those moments. I also appreciate you not giving up on my brother, for visiting him and praying with him. Thank you for teaching me how to praise and worship God no matter what I was facing. Thank you for being there for my family and me. You will always be missed."

This tribute was added by gladys nnadozie on 12th July 2014

"Femi I never met you, though we talked a lot over the phone, it seem I had know you for ever. You made Christ ever real in all your conversation. I am persuaded that, that was a better way to die. The bible had told us that our days are numbered. And I still remember the day you told me that our day are number, so therefore, we should keep doing the work of our father, because we do not know when he will  call us home. One more lesson I will not forget you thought me was not to stereotype people before I get to know them, because our God do not stereotype us. A gem is gone ! And for good, in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is left for us the living to keep the light burning till Jesus calls us home. My Brother Femi, Rest in Peace until we meet at Jesus feet. Amen!!! Gladys Nnadozie."

This tribute was added by Kikelomo Okusanya on 11th July 2014

I can only pray for your wife and children that The Lord Himself will comfort them. I pray also for strength for your beloved wife to continue the work that you both started and for God to give her the grace to see the children through to where they would be independent and do you both proud in Jesus' name. Amen

Adieu brother."

This tribute was added by Olasumbo & Ibrahim Aroworowon on 6th July 2014

"Mr. Femi Shabi, your purpose in this life that God sent you was sealed and delivered. God Who created you is the one Who took you away from us so that we can reflect on all the good things you came to this world to do. You are truly a servant of God. God took his own people away for a good reason that we cannot fathom now; When someone leaves this earth the form or shape you did, people of God knows that That was God's calling and it is the best way to leave this earth that people of faith pray for daily. I pray the family you left understand fully how truly you are a rare servant of God sent to this earth for the purpose he sent you for all of us to learn how to be helpful, live a good life and serve God.

My family and I pray for the entire family to find solace in not only the fond memories but as well as his many teachings. Mr. Femi Shabi, You will forever be missed without doubt but Gods knows better."

"It is unfortunate to hear that the good ones left us but who are we to question God almighty. All that we have left is to leave a life that will have a positive impact in others life, so that the world can have good things to say about us. Let us leave a life that will produce a good seed everyday as if there is no another day. Jesus is Lord."

This tribute was added by Augustine Eyekpimi on 5th July 2014

"Indeed life is a stage and we all are actors, we are given a script and at the end of our act we exit the stage. Femi was true to his script. He loved and was loved, he cherished his faith, family, friendship and did all to hold the bond of unity without compromise. He stood for peace, loyalty, unity, truth and always sees a light at the end of the tunnel saying " there is always a solution, don't worry".
His family teaches and demonstrates hospitality, acceptance, humility and the love of God. Though a busy man, he always finds time to help others even if it means depriving himself.
Your life Olufemi Shabi, though too short was and will continue to be an inspiration. Thank you for being not just a friend but a brother and a blessing to my family. We will always miss you.

To my dear "mumsie" Kemi, darling Ifeoluwa and Marvelous Papa, I pray God's overwhelming grace, sweetest fellowship and closest embrace will comfort you always.

Love Always,

Funmi Adelowokan"

"Femi,
What a shock to hear of your passing to glory. Even though we haven't spoken in a long time, I recently just started having memories of how Tolu, Dapo and myself with some other friends attended the burial ceremony of your late mom in Ijebu. I had hoped to call you and giggle over those memories only to receive that call that informed me of your death. O death where is thy sting, O grave where is thy victory? You were truly a friend. Gentle, faithful and kind hearted. When I think of your little children, I remember myself growing up without my late dad. God is ever faithful and my prayer is that He will continue to succor Kemi and your beautiful children. Sleep on in the bossom of our Lord till we meet to part no more."

Brother Femi, you are a good man, an epitome of humility and gentleness, an embodiment of a born again and an example of a compassionate christian.  You left an indelible footprint all over the place.  We will all miss you. Enjoy your partnership with the Lord as you anchor your tired shoulders on the bosom of the lord.  Adieu!
Sister Kemi, the lord said he will not leave you or forsake you, that he will be with you at all times, he will protect, rescue, honor and satisfy you and show you his salvation."

"What is in life that we will not serve God all days of our life.  While on earth God made you a shepherd of His people by pastoring a community and your family.God has taken you home early to take total and absolute control of those you left behind. We all felt it was too early to take a rest but we believe that your family and congregation is firmly secured with the Almighty God, the only one who neither sleep nor slumber.  He will do it more that any other person can do it. I pray for your immediate family that God will show up in every facet of their life; and to the congregation, God will minister to you every time you look at him and compensate you for the labor of love in the vineyard  IJN"

"My dearest friend Femi, I am still in denial but I know God blessed me with such a treasured friendship with you, whom I had the pleasure of knowing for 12 years.
You took every step with me, never gave up on me; our friendship compelled me to rise up to a high standard.
My brother from the other side of the ocean! Like you always say “Celina it will be ok; smile”. You did all the good work without any expectation of recognition.
You were passionate, caring, kind and a wonderful husband, father, friend and brother. You gave me a friend and sister Kemi; gave Arike a brother and sister.
I promise you, we will always be a family. I believe you are up there right now looking down on all of us, helping us along the way.

"Jesus said: I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he was dead, yet shall he live (John 11:25): I have read a lot about  my beloved Femi confirming the excellent service for his maker. God in His wisdom works in a way a man will never understand, He has chosen to take Femi home for higher service. We need to realize that no faithful servant can take up this service without a transition, his transition may be painful and heartbroken but I know that God is able to wipe away our tears, heal our broken hearts and take away our pain.

Heaven is a place of joy and total satisfaction. This should be the desire of ever true believer. Femi has joined the angels singing, praising, and worshiping his maker. Hebrew 10:23 says " Let us hold fast the profession of our hope without wavering; for he is faithful that promised. My darling wife you are not alone God is on your side every moment. God promised not to tempt us beyond our faith, He that has done this in His wisdom will fill the vacuum. God will do a new thing in your life. The mighty hands of God will engulf you and your children.

Pastor Femi just like apostle Paul, you have fought a good fight, you have finished your course and also kept the faith. I have no doubt in my mind that you are now wearing the CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which Lord promised those who love His appearing."

"I was so shock to hear about the demise of Pastor Femi Shabi on June 26 2014. The house of faith has lost a devoted servant of God, a humble, kind and hardworking young man. During his life time, so many lives have been touched and that is one of the reasons why I believe that Pastor Femi is now at the bosom of Jesus Christ. I pray that may God almighty, the giver of life send a comforter to comfort his lovely wife (Kemi) and all their children. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace (Amen)"

"Femi Shabi, my friend of almost 30 years. writing this tribute brings more tears to my eyes and more pains to my heart.  A rare gem you are; that you are selfless is an understatement, all you think about is how to be of help, even at your own detriment. You served God and made yourself a servant to men. we shared memories that will forever be with me. You have sowed good seed for your wife and children; help will always be available to them. Good night my friend, who is closer than a brother. i will miss your calls each time you load an international card (smiles)."

"I was in a literal state of shock when I received this devastating news yesterday. Femi, its edifying to read the glowing tribute and the many wonderful ways you have touched different people's lives. You had a magnanimous spirit. No doubt, the beautiful family you have left behind will find these thoughts very warm and comforting. They, and the rest of us, are right to be proud of you!!

But why do good people die young? I don't think we will ever be able to answer this question. This is what makes us all sad - we wish you had tarried longer. We liked having you around in our lives, even if we were physically separated by the vast oceans. You really didn't need to go just now. And without so much as a goodbye. That is not like you. If you could, I know you won't have left us in the manner that you did. And so, whilst the rest of us contemplate the meaning of life and existence, I hope that you are very happy in the dimension you now inhabit. May your loved ones, particularly your wife and children, find the strength and fortitude to bear the pain of your death.

Goodnight, my dear brother.

Ijabla"

"Beloved Pastor Shabi,
I have no words to express myself at the thought that you have passed on to glory just like that. Your presence in my life brought so much joy and relief because of your kindness, understanding, humility and selflessness. You generously gave of your time, treasures and talents to the LORD and to everyone around you with no strings attached. You fearlessly shared your convictions and helped many to see the TRUTH from God's perspective with such grace, wisdom and counsel that dissolved hurts. Your life was such a blessing. We are grateful for the times God had allowed us to share with you. Your cherished memory will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace my beloved brother."

"Pastor Femi,
Destiny made your path to cross that of my family in September 2010, It was a period of confusion for us being new in the country at that time and you were there to encourage us and gave us direction
Some of the connections we got through you has made our stay in Delaware a stress-less one and till date, we are still enjoying it
When we were almost homeless, with you young kids and a 2 months old baby at hand, you told us that your home is available for us to move into
I thought it was only my family that was a beneficiary of your good works because we came from the same place and shared the same birthday
I later saw that it was in you to do good both to the household of faith and even outside the fold.
I am yet to see anyone on this land that can house strangers like you did
I remembered when you housed Romanians and other strangers that you had no connection with, and your family never complained or nagged
I remembered when a family had an issue with an extended family member that stayed with them and you were called to settle the dispute, you had to take that person to your home just for peace to reign in that family, yet your family did not complain
You even housed a brother that came to this country having no one, and when we met, the brother happened to be one of our church member in Nigeria
Indeed, you were an epitome of good works
Your wife is my sister from another mother that I have on this land, always ready to listen to me at all times, her counsel has saved us from a lot of errors and unnecessary waste of resources
My family was with your wife and kids till about 1.30pm on June 25th, and I remembered Marvelous told me that you were home
The next thing I heard was that you were no more.....just like that!
The creature has no power to question the creator on why He would permit some things, but we take solace in God believing that there is still a meeting place
Even though you are no more but your memory and legacy lives on
I believe you are now part of the cloud of witnesses that will be applauding us when we make the Master proud
Sleep on dear brother till we meet at His feet
Unto the comforter, the father of the fatherless, do I commit your wife and kids, to wipe their tears, fill the vacuum, send help to them, and give them a new beginning again
Good night Pastor Femi"

""Femi! What a joy to have known  you dear. I refuse to refer to you in the past ; there is no such as past with you Femi. You are such a great hero , an unsung one , ever so loving, selfless and caring. Hardworking, I never saw the tired version of you. Your popular encouraging phrases can't stop streaming through the screen of my mind as I bend over to type. "I believe there is always a solution to problems, so don't panic" you will say. Got that from you four years ago Femi. Aw, you are such a seasoned counsellor. You love to quickly make difficult mountains appear like a comfortable mole hill.

Always a pleasure to be with! Looks out for you. Nothing is ever too difficult for you to do Femi. Such an unassuming gentle soul. A loving father you are, despite your busy schedule. You love fun, larger than life you are. Never a boring moment with you.

You rang me back but I had slept off. I knew you were not ignoring my calls .....

Femi o, heaven is a place just nearby dear, so there is no need to say goodbye. Life is eternal, love is immortal , it's only an horizon; and an horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight dear.
Love you dear, sleep tight....,.
It's Bukky Maxwell""

"Death where is your sting and grave show us your power, you have simply been a transition to the Bosom of Christ and Pastor Femi Shabi has preceded us in seeing the face of the Master. Honestly if we had our input in the decision about this transition we would have loved a different outcome. We will miss you beyond words. Our biggest regret is that we didn't love you more. Our heart's desire and prayer is that your family will be comforted by this huge loss. We say good night for now because we know we shall wake up one day to see your face again in glory."

"Pastor Femi, I still can't believe this is really happening. However I am comforted with the fact that you are a man who sought to please God. I know you are home now resting with our Lord. Thank you for being a brother and friend to Ernest and I. Thank you for letting God use you immensely in my life, you believed in my gift and my calling more than I did. You had a patience that was rare. You had a humble and selfless nature that was felt by many. You worked so hard yet found time for family, friends, most of all God. I thank God for the short time we spent with your family. This is not goodbye. We will meet again. Thank God for you."
