It's been 7 days since you'd gone away.

The hurt is the same like an open wound.

There are days I don't utter a sound.

       You were like a Rock..

     Strong, Faithful , and True.

What worth has my life, now I don't have you

       I always loved you..

My hero, my star, sweet daddy

Now my pain is to worship you from afar.

I love you now, as I did back then.

        I just hope... One day

       I will see you again.

I will never say goodbye to you my daddy

Because I know this is not the end for

        us to see each other.

      You were the only person

I can look to as my father

In my triumphs you were always proud.

If I only I could turn back the time

I would have never let you go.

      I felt the world stop,

       and my heart stop

           beating,

when they told me you were gone.........

How I wish I was only dreaming.

Just like the rain, tears still fall from my eyes.

I wouldn't have an education if it wasn't for you

        Thank You Dad...

  For always understanding, listening, caring

and loving me throughout your whole life.

It's difficult to let you go but I must..

I must return the gift God gave me..

We all Love and miss you so much,

Sleep well and take care of

       all who went before you.

Forever in my Heart.

Daddy, my father, Baba Sola, used to fondly call you "Buoda" and you really stood in for him after his death. You are so caring, you used to call me several times to ask of all my siblings, one after the other, to the extent that I was even ashamed of myself, that I am lazy in calling you. I told you when you called me last in January that I will come and visit you before Easter, only to hear of your crossing the Jordan of Life. You are the last to die out of the Jekayinfa's children, by now you would have seen your people. May the Lord keep everything that you left behind. Good Night till we meet to part no more.

Your battle is now over, no more tears flowing down your cheek,
no more pain, no more suffering, now you are no longer weak.
I still do not understand why this had to happen to you,
but,we will never say goodbye to you my Father
because we know this is not the end for us to see each other.
You will only be going to a place where there’s no pain nor suffering.
we are happy for ..........

I am one of Baba's 'adopted children'. Baba became for me a role model when I was in the village about 50years ago. My late father had annual celebrations for all educated indigenes of Aregbe village and Baba Adeyeye always stood out among them; with his warm cherubic smile, his sparkling white teeth, his gentle but confident steps; and his cultured eating manners. I immediately made up my mind to be like him.
I also admired him whilst he rode on his Triumph motorcycle along Amola road to tantalize his dear wife (mama). He later went to Oyinbo land to study and came back with a small car (Hillman). It was when he came back from postgraduate studies that he changed that car

It was when I went to the School of Forestry after my secondary education and I had to live with his family that I was opportune a very close study of the man I wanted to be like. I would sit with him and listen to his conversation and counsel to people he encountered at home and in his office. His principle of excellence and discipline; his principle of delayed gratification and being impactful yet not aggressive. It was he who gave me holiday jobs that largely sustained me during my University Education and he encouraged me to continue postgraduate works despite the very little resources at my disposal. I owe a lot Baba in my academic advances and spartan life style.

Our greatest joy is that he lived a very long, very fruitful and fulfilled life. And he knew The Lord before seeing death.

Celebration of the life of Pa Adeyeye Oladokun Jekayinfa.
He was the patriarch of the family
And a good job he did
He laid example for his children
Of humility, hard work, faithfulness and gentleness
We wanted to keep him with us
But he was ready to depart
He told me the bible said 3 scores and ten
I told him how Joshua was still going strong
He was proud to be an Octogenarian
I still hoped he would be a Nonagenarian
He was ready to meet his maker
I wasn't ready to be without a father
He had his faults I know
But he did his best as he knew how
He lived a good life full of achievements
Many proud moments
Oh Daddy, we will miss you!
But you are at rest now
Adieu my Daddy
Till we meet again

Just lost my dad, my great dad, the greatest dad, my hero. Makes me so sad but I’m grateful to God and consoled that I got to spend some time with him before he left; I got to say goodbye the way I could. I got, most importantly, to lead him to Christ; he said the prayers with his whole heart. My dad was the greatest of all. From Funlola Ojelade nee Jekayinfa

Celebration of a life well spent: Daddy, God saw you were getting tired, And a cure was not to be He put his arms around you And whispered come to me He didn’t like what you went through And he gave you rest
His garden must be beautiful He only takes the best And when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and free from pain We wouldn’t wish you back To suffer that again
Today we say goodbye And as you take your final rest That garden must be beautiful
Because you are one of the best.
To me you were always number one. Your life can never truly be done, You are the obvious number one dad, You passed away and made us really sad. I loved you lots and was really proud. You’ve gone up to live on a big fluffy cloud. You died at the age of 83.
Leaving me your ever loving daughter. I love you Dad, I miss you tons You left 1 loving son. Five lovely daughters A wife, many grandchildren. You passed away today (21 March 2014) and made us all sad. You finally swallowed death in victory, o death where is your sting. Daddy, you came to this world you saw and you actually conquered. Thank you for bringing me to this world, I could never wish for any other dad. Thank you for the legacy you left behind. You thread where giants thread, you walked where princes walked, you wined and dined with kings and princes. I tried following your steps but wondered how in this world you achieved such giant strides. You gave us so much stability in life, that I never new what was called lack. I remembered you saying once we should never cry when you pass on. Yes we are not crying we are celebrating your passing on to glory. Till we meet again to part no more I want you to know that we all love you and wished you never go…..

Memorial Verse 1

We hold you close within our hearts

And there you shall remain

To walk with us throughout our lives.

Until we meet again so rest in peace dear daddy.

And thanks for all you’ve done for us all

We pray that God has given you

The crown you’ve truly won

Memorial Verse 2

When God held out his precious hands

To take you from you pain

You stretched your weary hand right back.

As he softly called your name

“Come home with me,” he quietly said

“Your pain will leave you soon, just close you eyes and take my hand,

We’ll quietly leave the room.”

Memorial Verse 3

Daddy, remembering you is easy

We do it every day

It’s the heart ache of loosing you

That will never go away.

Memorial Verse 4

It’s lonely here without you nothing is the same.

All we have is memories and your picture in a frame

We can’t get over losing you, no matter how we try

We’ll keep you in our hearts until the day we die.

Memorial Verse 5

A place in our heart is yours alone.

A piece of love no one can own.

Deep in our heart your memory is kept

Of a father

We will never forget.

Memorial Verse 6

We did not see you close your eyes

We did not see you die

All we know was that you were gone

Without a last goodbye

It was a sudden parting

Too bitter to forget

Memorial Verse 7

God called your name so softly

That only you could hear

And no one heard his footsteps

Of angels drawing near

The golden gates stood open

God saw you needed rest

His garden must be beautiful

He only takes the best.

Memorial Verse 8

Now that you’re gone it feels so wrong

But you left us with good memories that will always live on.

I wish I could see you for one more day

And chase all the pain away.

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of you

And all the good things that we used to do.

Memorial Verse 9

Your life was one of kindly deeds, helping hands for others needs

Sincere and thru in heart and mind

Beautiful memories left behind

A silent grief that’s in our hearts

No human eye can trace

For many a broken heart is hid

Beneath a smiling face.

Memorial Verse 10

It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone

A part of us went with you the day God called you home

A millions times we’ve needed you

A million times we’ve cried

If love could have saved you.

You never would have died.

Memorial Verse 11

May you always walk in sunshine and God’s love around you flow

For the happiness you gave us, no one will ever know

It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone

A part of us went with you, the day god called you home.

Memorial Verse 12

So many people loved you, and that makes us so proud

You were that special person who stood out from the crowd.

It was on the day you left us, we were very much aware

The mark you made on people by the congregation there.

Our world was no more the same, but it made us realize

What a wonderful person you were

Dear daddy

In so many people’s eyes.

Memorial Verse 13

We never asked for miracles

But today just one will do

To see the door open

And see you coming through

A golden heart stopped beating

Two loving eyes at rest

God broke our hearts to prove to us

He only takes the best.

Memorial Verse 14

Those we love don’t go away

They stay beside us everyday

Unseen, unheard, but always near

Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Memorial Verse 15

You were always someone special

Someone kind and true

Who will never be forgotten

For we thought the world of you.

Memorial Verse 16

You felt such peace as you followed the light
You fought a good fight of faith till the end, using all your might

The love in your eyes, the sound in your laughter

Remains in our hearts forever and after.

To all of your loved ones you’ll never be gone

To each one of us your spirit lives on.

Memorial Verse 17

Now that your gone it feels so wrong

But you left us with good memories

That will always live on

I wish I could see you one more day and chase all of your pain away

Not a day goes by that we don’t think of you

And all the good things that you used to do.

Memorial Verse 18

The angel’s sang amazing grace

God came down and touched your face

Then he whispered, soft and low

Come with me it’s time to go

The gates of heaven opened wide

The angels lined up side by side

A special guest is on his way

The day they took our dear daddy away

Memorial Verse 19

(The day I had to leave you)

To those I have left behind

Some things I’d like to say

But first of all to let you know

That I’ve arrived OK

I’m writing this from heaven

Where I dwell with God above

Where there’s no more tears and sadness

There’s just eternal love

The day I had to leave you

When my life on earth was through

God picked me up and hugged me

And said “I welcome you”

Please do not be unhappy, just because I’m out of sight

Remember that I’m with you

Morning, noon and night.

And when you feel that gentle breeze

Or the wind upon your face

That’s me give you a great big hug

Or just a soft embrace

And when its time for you to go from that body to be free

Remember you’re not going

You are coming here to me

P.S God sends his love

Memorial Verse 20

Miss me but let me go

When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me

I want no rites in a gloom filled room

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too lone

And with your head bowed low

Remember the love that once we shared

Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take

And each must go alone

It’s all part of the master’s plan

A step on the way to home

When you are lonely and sick of heart

Go to the friends we know

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds

Miss me – but let me go.

Memorial Verse 22

A Father is a special gift

One you think will stay

You never dream the day will come

When he will be taken away

If there is another life and we are born once more

I pray that God will give me

The Father I had before.

Memorial Verse 23

Those who mean the most to us

Are never really gone

For in our thoughts and in our hearts

Their Memories still lives on.

So may you find that passing time

Can somehow help to heal

And memories will ease the loss

And the sorrow that you feel

Memorial Verse 24

Your life on earth was shortened

By God’s mysterious ways

In our hearts there is a picture

Of a face more precious than gold

To us that loved and lost you,

That face will never grow old.

Because you were so special

A father so very rare

Memories are a gift to treasure

Our’s for you (daddy) will last forever.

Memorial Verse 25

You’ve just walked on ahead of us

And we’ve got to understand

You must release the one’s you love

And let go of their hands.

We try to cope the best we can

But we're missing you so much

If we could only see you

And once more feel your touch.

Yes, you’ve just walked on ahead of us.

Don’t worry we’ll be fine

But now and then we swear we feel

Your hands slip into ours.

Memorial Verse 26

We often lie awake at night

When the world is fast asleep

We think about the Father we loved

With tears upon our cheeks

We can’t get over losing you

No matter how we try

We will always keep you in our heart

Until the day you die

You were that Special Father

That many were fond of

But no one had, what we had

A Father’s special bond

Memorial Verse 27

We had the world when we had you

A world of happiness and love too.

Someone to turn to kind and true

One in a million Dad that was you

Memorial Verse 28

As we look upon your picture

Sweet memories we recall

Of a face so full of sunshine

And a smile for one and all

Thought your heart has gone forever

And your hand we cannot touch

We shall never lose those memories

Of a Dad we loved so much

Memorial Verse 29

Though his smile is gone forever

And his hand we cannot touch

We will have so many memories of a Dad we loved so much

His memory our my keepsake

With which we’ll never part

God has him in his keeping

We have him in our heart.

Memorial Verse 30

No words we write will ever say

How much we miss you day by day

Our love for you will always keep

It will never fail it lies too deep

You left so many memories

To us you were so dear

No matter when we needed you

We always found you near

We light this candle in your memory

For all the times we laughed

And all the times we cried

All the silly things you did

And most importantly,

all the care and joy you gave

So thank you Dad for loving and sharing

For giving and for caring

God bless you and keep you

Until we meet again

Memorial Verse 31

What matters one more hours or day

Or one more month or year

As long as friends are kind and true and

Friendships are sincere

For life is never measured by the years which you live

But by the kindly deeds you do and the friendly cheer you give-

And so in paying tribute to your passing on to glory and to you

We add appreciation for the gift of friendship too.

Memorial Verse 32

As we look upon your picture

Sweet memories we recall

Of a face so full of sunshine

And a smile for one and all

Though your heart has gone forever

And your hand we cannot touch

We shall never lose those memories

Of a Mam we loved so much

Memorial Verse 33

Though his smile is gone forever

And his hand we cannot touch

We will have so many memories

of a Dad we loved so much

His memory is our keepsake

With which we’ll never part

God has him in his keeping

We have him in my heart

IN THE LAND OF FADELESS DAYS

March 21, 2015

IN THE LAND OF FADELESS DAYS, In loving memory of the late PA RUPHUS ADEYEYE OLADOKUN JEKAYINFA (June 12 -March 21 2014).
We all miss him tonnes and we all look forward to the day we shall see him again.

In the land of fadeless day
Lies the city foursquare;
It shall never pass away,
And there is no night there.
Refrain:
God shall wipe away all tears,
There’s no death, no pain, nor fears,
And they count not time by years,
For there is no night there.
All the gates of pearl are made,
In the city foursquare;
All the streets with gold are laid,
And there is no night there.
All the gates shall never close
To the city foursquare;
There life’s crystal river flows,
And there is no night there.
There they need no sunshine bright,
In that city foursquare;
For the Lamb is all the light,
And there is no night there.

Ive been dreaming of a city Jerusalem, in loving memory of the world's greatest dad Pa Ruphus Adeyeye Oladokun Jekayinfa

March 21, 2015

IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST DAD
PA RUPHUS ADEYEYE OLADOKUN JEKAYINFA (June 12 -March 21 2014)

We've been dreaming of a city called Jerusalem, our home right up in the sky, where the suffering's over, a place far beyond the sky, where our loving father the late PA RUPHUS ADEYEYE OLADOKUN JEKAYINFA (June 12 -March 21 2014), traveled to on the 21st of March 2014. It was just like a dream, it was as if you should never depart
We all miss you loads and we all look forward to the day we shall see him again

I've been dreaming of a city
far beyond the sky
where the suffering's over
get my wings and fly
when Jesus says it's over
oh what joy that will be
Whe're there's no more dreaming
I'll behold that last.
I've been dreaming of a city Jerusalem
Jerusalem jerusalem
I've been dreaming of a city Jerusalem
my home right up in the sky.
ohhhh
sometimes I lose direction
set to close my mind
but Jesus stands to remind me
that imma pass out through
Instead of losing heaven
I must look to the day
where there's no more Dreaming
I'll be home at last
I've been dreaming Of a city Jerusalem
Jerusalem Jerusalem
I've been dreaming of a city Jerusalem
my home right up in the sky
I've been dreaming of a city Jerusalem
Jerusalem Jerusalem
I've been dreaming of a city Jerusalem
my home right up in the sky
All my troubles
will be over
Just a little while to go
I shall see Him in face to face
Oh right up in the sky
All my troubles
Will be over
just a little while to go
I shall see him face to face
oh right up I the sky
All my troubles
will be over
just a little while to go
I shall see him face to face
ohh right up in the sky
All my troubles
will be over
just a little while to go
I shall see him face to face
ohh right up in the sky

A SPECIAL DAD IS HARD TO FIND

May 1, 2014

A SPECIAL DAD IS HARD TO FIND

A special dad is hard to find,
You dad We're keeping in our mind,
We love you Dad with all our heart
And hate that we should be apart
But we will never forget you oh not ever.

A special dad we can't replace,
Never selfish, always loving and kind,
A special smile, a special face,

Your love and your kindness
Your soft gentle touch
These are memories you left behind.

We love you and we’ll always do,
You filled a space that no one will ever replace.

The day that you left us
Tears fell from the sky
Even though your body has died
But your spirit lives strong
In each one of us
Where it forever belongs

Your time here was a very long and fulfilling one,

Even though we wished God had spared you a few more years.

But God bid the angels to call you their way
If we had to live life over
We would choose you once more

Until that day comes, that we cross over too
Our family will not be complete
Until we meet that day with you

We love you Dad with all our heart.
And hate that we should be apart
Our love is a bond that can’t be broken
You may be gone, but never forgotten

Deep in our hearts your memory is kept,
Ours is just a simple prayer,
God bless and keep you in His care.

Sleep well darling Dad, forever in our heart and our thoughts

we’ll always love and remember you.

Earth has one gentle soul less,
And Heaven one angel more.

God bless you and keep you in His care,
Until we meet again.
