I remember back in 1971 or 1972 Joe had a white 1964 ford Galaxy 500 with I believe had a Ford 360 big block and 513 rear diff. This car would scream down the road.  I still remember my first ride in that thing. Joe was my first introduction to the car world and the heart tug of the quarter mile. I went to the track with him a few times and always had a good time. I followed the car industry in later and made it a career.

Anyone remember the drag racing on the southbound lanes of Central Highway. Always late at night they would close the road to all traffic and race in front of the cross county mall right next to Rt. 87. 

back when Dad was young, he was just dating my mom and he was friends with my soon to be uncle. dad was spending a night at Toms house...I'm sure as a teen they were out not doing good things! Anyhow dad with his expressions...quite a bit exaggeration he tells the story of how he stayed over and slept on the floor...as he was falling asleep he felt what he thought was a cat...but then remembered Tom didn't have a cat...open his eyes and there was a HUGE rat sitting on his chest!!!! Well dad with his arms spread out wide he says it was huge...of course the size was a little exaggerated...after he told me the story I asked Uncle Tom and he said yes its true but the rat was not HUGE and started laughing, said he remembered the night also and it was hysterical!!!! the best parts of him telling the story was him laughing, smiling and making me laugh!!!
