"happy birth day mom we love you and miss you xoxoxo."
On the 76th anniversary of your birth I hope you have a grand celebration like the song from the Music Man " 76 Trombones"
Seventy-six trombones led the big parade
With a hundred and ten cornets close at hand.
They were followed by rows and rows of the finest
virtuosos, the cream of ev'ry famous band.
Seventy-six trombones caught the morning sun
With a hundred and ten cornets right behind
There were more than a thousand reeds
Springing up like weeds
There were horns of ev'ry shape and kind.
There were copper bottom tympani in horse platoons
Thundering, thundering all along the way.
Double bell euphoniums and big bassoons,
Each bassoon having its big, fat say!
There were fifty mounted cannon in the battery
Thundering, thundering louder than before
Clarinets of ev'ry size
And trumpeters who'd improvise
A full octave higher than the score!
Love Mike and Mary"

One year has past and I miss you very much. I so fondly recall our phone calls and reminiscing about our childhood days and all the different Lithuanian meals that Mom made for us. "My dearest Petey,
We were supposed to be wildly celebrating your 75th birthday today. I know that you're doing that in Heaven in a big way. I hope the cake and ice cream are exceptional.
I often wonder why God decided to take his special light home too soon--only He has the answer and the need. I desperately miss your insight and your incredibly warm hugs of affection. Missing your love on this special day.
Love and hugs,
"In the gallery/photo section of this website is a copy of the sympathy card the family of Pat Kolar received from the staff at Villa Monte Vista. We are most grateful for the excellent care, compassion, friendship and love that they provided to Pat."
"Grandma Pat, there isn't a day where I don't think of you. I will always remember you for your quick and witty sense of humor, amazing faith in The Lord, and the love you had for everyone and everything. I'm so blessed to have you as my grandmother, you have made such a wonderful and positive impact in so many peoples' lives and touched their hearts. You were always so positive and loving, and your love for helping others has been passed down to me, and it motivates me to better in life because I want to make you proud. I know you are now watching over me and I am so happy that you are finally home where you belong. I miss you so much Grandma Pat, and I look forward to the day we meet again. I love you so so much."
"This is a tribute from Mike Gudjones, Petey’s only sibling and Mary Gudjones, her sister-in-law.
First of all let us tell you how very proud we are of you. You had a significant number of factors working against you early in life but you showed great perseverance and determination in overcoming these obstacles and creating a meaningful life which positively impacted many others.
You left quite a legacy ……..
* You raised two wonderful sons who you can be very proud of ….plus your large extended family, many of whose lives you have directly or indirectly affected.
* You have been a shining example for others regarding how you handled your disability and your loss of independent living at the early age of 62 when your health condition put you in a nursing home. You knew at that point that you would have to remain in a nursing home for the rest of your life. A very difficult situation considering your mind was sharp but your body wasn‘t . Many people put in a similar situation would not have handled this as well as you did. Many would have just given up, or become very depressed, angry, highly irritable, resentful and critical. But not you. Through all of this you managed to keep a positive attitude, a fine sense of humor, a charitable nature, a sincere interest in helping others, and self motivation to find activities to keep your mind active and help pass the many waking hours in your bed.
* Your strong faith in the Lord. You helped so many people with your prayers and the example you set for others as a lover of the Lord. So many staff members at Villa Monte Vista will forever remember how you helped them through prayer. Your compassion and counsel for them and their day to day problems was a reflection of the Lord through you.
We are so sad that you had to leave us so soon, but so happy that you are now free of all your physical limitations and are enjoying reuniting with all you family and friends in Heaven.
We love you, love you, love you !"
"Wow, Pat was like a Mom to me as well!!! She is definitely a great sister in Christ, as well as a mentor in my case, as well as to several others I'm sure. I'm selfishly sad that I may not get to see her for a while, but I rejoice knowing that she is alive and well in the hands of our great Savior even as I write. I can only imagine the joy that she must be experiencing now! I can't wait to see you again Pat. Love, your brother, Tim"
"Pat loved the Lord and was such an inspiration to all the staff at VMV. We were so blessed by her smiles, jokes, positive attitude and prayers. She cared about the well-being of the staff no matter what department you worked in. Pat will be missed by all and has left a legacy to all that knew her. Thank you Pat for choosing our facility for your home, we were all blessed by you and know you will be always be remembered."
"I only knew Pat through her brother Mike and sister in law Mary but looking at her life story I see a person with tremendous perseverance and with a smile that is an inspiration to all. God speed your trip to Heaven."
"Our sister in Christ was a light that burned brightly for the Lord. Her heart unselfishly gave to all who came across her path. She demonstrated the love of her Savior and was a friend to all. She always took the time to listen, encourage and pray. Pat leaves a legacy in my heart of kindness, goodness, faithfulness and love. I will miss you sister and look forward to the day when we will share again in heaven. She has fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. She has received her crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge has awarded her in heaven....."
"I can't tell you how sad I am to hear of Pat's passing, I have known her since I was a little girl, she and my mom were best friends and she was like a second mother to me and my brothers. She was truly blessed and will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathy to her family, take solace in knowing she is with God now but will live in all of our hearts forever."
"I am so blessed to have you as my grandmother and guardian angel.
You were such an inspiration to every one around you and touched many people's lives; you motivate me to do better with mine. I will always remember your heart warming smile and your laugh, your hugs and kisses, the stories you shared, and your undeniable love for our Father and passion for people. I can not wait to see you again, Grandma Pat. Go dancing for me up there. =]
'Love ya a whole bunch' <3"
"You were many people's second mom including mine. Love you.."
"My memories of you Grandma Pat are nothing but warm and uplifting. Growing up, you always made us smile and laugh. I'm still wondering if you really had those pets hiding under your bed....My Dad definitely has your sense of humor! I am so thankful for that and to have such an amazing Father; an extension of an amazing woman. I am grateful to have had the times we shared together and feel honored to know you and that you blessed so many people at VMV. Your life held so much purpose. I know your Spirit is still with us all and that we will all see you again with our Creator. To a kind healer, artist, and loving soul, I love you so much Grandma Pat."
"So my birthday twin has been summoned up to a higher heavenly place. I certainly will miss her funny comments on my Facebook which I know she loved to peruse and keep in touch with friends. Rest in Peace Pat."
"I will always have good memories of our visits together and the nice times we had at family gatherings. Such a good-hearted lady. I will miss you."
