Her Life
March 30, 2014

Although born in Kansas, Patti spent most of her childhood and early adult years in Colorado.  Later she and Wayne moved to California, New Mexico, back to Colorado and finally to Arizona.  Wherever she settled, she seemed to fit right in, making that place home, and making friends easily, many of whom she kept throughout her lifetime.  During their 63 years of married life together, she and Wayne participated in a wide variety of activities including a camping club in Colorado, a square dancing club in California, Red Hat Ladies activities in both Colorado and Arizona and of course bowling teams and tournaments everywhere they lived.  For all of us whose lives Patti touched – as wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, co-worker, etc. our lives were quickly made so much richer by knowing her.  She was someone who loved life and loved people.  Despite her many physical struggles in her later years with diabetes, heart disease and COPD, she managed to remain active and even managed to keep death at bay several times when it came knocking at her door.  What a fighter she was!  We all remember how many times in recent years we prepared ourselves for the worst, only to find that once again she had performed one of her miracles and had cheated death once more.  She was determined to maintain a busy, full and active life:  traveling,  going out, visiting others or welcoming guests on a regular basis in her own home.  She was still that ‘bundle of energy’ we all knew and loved so well all the way up to the very end.  It was on Dec 20th 2013 when her soul rose to the heavens and her body came to rest, completely, peacefully, forever.
