Patti's Journey

December 29, 2015

Our sweet Patti was a devoted wife of 59 years, a loving mother of five, and a doting grandmother of ten grandchildren.

Patti was born in Oxnard, CA in 1933.  She grew up in Westwood, Ca with her father, Clifford, mother Mildred, and older brother. Dick.  She later attended USC.

Patti was voted the “Snow Princess” of 1951 at the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce “Snow Ball”.  She was escorted by her brother Dick’s UCLA ski teammate, Dave.   Thus began a 6-year courtship, followed by 59 years of marriage.  Patti and Dave were married on February 2nd, 1957.

Soon after the birth of their son, Karl, they moved from Southern California to Oroville where their next two children, Jill and Cathy were born.  In 1968, Patti and family moved to Pakistan for four years for Dave’s job working on the Tarbella Dam.  While in Pakistan, her fourth child, Linda, was born.  Patti enjoyed many adventures traveling the world with her husband and four children during their stay in Pakistan and traveled for three months through Europe while on their return home to the US.

In 1972, she settled in the Bay Area where her fifth child, Jonathan, was born.   Patti was a devoted wife and supportive and dedicated mother to her five children.  She loved spending time with her family including her ten grandchildren who all live close to their Walnut Creek home.

This was the same house where Patti passed peacefully, in her sleep, while under the care of Hospice and many other caregivers.  We are forever grateful for the love they shared with Patti and for their constant devotion to her.  Knowing she was so loved by her family, hospice and caregivers, Patti left this world content, comfortable, and knowing she was greatly loved.
