Will always miss Pat and Selmer. Every summer I think of the annual trip to Keystone for Pat and I. We had fun playing tourist. I also think of the many trips to Castle Creek to pick some raspberries and have chili dogs. Good memories.

Our family considers the Kittleson clan as extended family from Wind Cave. Even our grandchildren have visited the Black Hills home and know Pat as the wise, witty, cool aunt, who always had an appropriate comment. Pat treated all of us as family and helped make Wind Cave our summer home. We will miss her!

So many good memories at WICA! Sitting on the front steps watching the kids play, the aroma of home made cinnamon rolls on Sat. morning, evenings around the fire pit, lots of good times. We were honored to spend 10 summers with your folks, and admired them as individuals and you all as a family. So sorry for your loss.

I only met Pat once at Kevin and Mary's house, but it only took once to see what a kind, warm, gentle person she was. One thing I do know, she raised one of the nicest, closest families I've ever seen....and because of that, she was an inspiration. My thoughts and love are with you all....and especially my friends, Mary and Kevin. Love you guys-

What a beautiful and dear woman Pat was. She was such a delight to be around and I always felt like I was part of her immediate family when I was with her. She and Selmer were amazing human beings and parents as evidenced by the amazing kids they had. What a great legacy they left this world! Hugs to all of you. We will miss her dearly.-Heather Provencio (Kevin's sister)

I'k writing because Pat was a good friend of my mother's, Violet Olson. Our family lived in Wheaton MN--my dad also a teacher--in the 50's and it is largely because of the small cluster of Wheaton teachers in the Claremont area that Mom moved to CA in 1965. Pat was a good friend to her and a beautiful person. God bless her memory.

Pat & Selmer moved into their new house next door to us on the exact same day as us. For the following 24 years we became great friends, Jim and I went to their beloved home in the 'hills" one summer. She grew close to my family and we all loved her. We had so much fun, laughter and caring for each other.. She was truly an Angel with her gentle ways. We will miss you forever dear Pat.

I am sure she thought she had 6 kids and not 5 during some of those summers in South Dakota, as she allowed me to spend many wonderful summers there with her brood. What a GREAT laugh she had...one of the best I've ever heard. It was sincere and heartfelt and you couldn't help but laugh too. The best cook ever. You will be missed. Rest well. I have to believe she is up there chewing Selmer out for leaving her. She was alway s mad at Selmer and Gene for leaving us. What a gift to have known them both. What a wonderful life they had and I know how proud they were of their wonderful family.

Pat and I met in 1950 when we both began our first year of teaching in Wheaton, MN. Our friendship grew and was continuous and special all of these years. I am thankful and honored to have had her in my life. I have many stories to tell, but not today!

I have so many wonderful memories of your mom and family. Trips to So. Dakota where your mom taught me about baking a cake and the altitude. I remember the milk cake and the caramel rolls the mornings I stayed the night. For some reason I am remembering the rooster dishes she had and how cool I thought those were. What a wonderful childhood we had on Landsbury. RIP Pat.. Xoxo

Many years ago while my mother was still alive and before I retired,  Pat and Kit stopped in Denver and spent an afternoon with us.  It had been many years since we had last seen her but she hadn't changed a bit.

Growing up in Starbuck we spent a lot of time with the Sanviks.  Pat was by far my favorite baby sitter.  She was so special. The pictures she drew along with the stories she told truly inspired me.  Because of her I started drawing and painting at a very early age and still continue to do so.

I always waited for their Christmas letter to get all the news.  The past few years I had the pleasure of chating with her on several occasions.  She was a very special lady and I will miss her.

She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love Peggy Kapsner
