Paul McKeegan was born March 29, 1934 in Watonga, OK to Elmer Harvey McKeegan and Violet (Martin) McKeegan. Paul attended schools in Dalhart and then joined the US Air Force. Paul was injured while on active duty and later returned to Dalhart. 
He is survived by his wife – Placida McKeegan of Dalhart, TX his children – Sheilah Kay Montoya of Columbus,OH and her spouse Ramon Montoya, Paula Rider of Columbus, OH, Marsha Hird of Herington, KS and her spouse Larry Hird, Paul Harvey McKeegan of Enid Oklahoma and his wife Tammy McKeegan, and Debbie Spencer of Columbus OH, and his step children Carolyn Blanco, of Panhandle, TX, Silvia Delapaz of Amarillo, TX, Rita Stewart of Canyon, TX, Johnny Samaniego, Lloyd Ray Samaniego, and Joe Samaniego all of Dalhart, TX, 38 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. His brothers – Glen McKeegan of Bogata, TX, Albert McKeegan of North Freedom, WI, Wilbur McKeegan of Halletsville, TX, James McKeegan of Greenville, AL, sisters – Oleta Scanlon of Reedsburg, WI, Donna Thompson of Merryville, LA, and Carroll Ailshie of Lubbock, TX. 
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer Harvey and Violet Mckeegan, Grandson Jason Ray MeKeegan, step-daughters - Susie Ramos and Joyce Faye Pedrosa and 2 step-sons - Paul and Matthew Samaniego, and a sister – Leota Griffin nephews Cecil Cannon, Gleyn McKeegan, and Niece Violet McKeegan. His grand-daughters Rebecca and Katrina Montoya sang Wind Beneath My Wings which was dedicated to their grandfather from his children Paul, Paula, Sheilah, and Marsha.
