Biography Of Paul Mwambo Evande

May 27, 2012
09 Track 9

Paul Mwambo Evande was born on July 7, 1959.

After completing Catholic Primary School Buea Town, he studied at home and obtained his GCE Ordinary Level. He then attended Bilingual Grammar School, Molyko, Buea, obtaining his GCE Advanced Level.

He went on to Yaounde University, where he studied law. After obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, he was admitted into the Advanced School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM).
After graduating from ENAM, he was appointed Deputy State Counsel in Tombel, where he spent a few years before being transferred to Bamenda as Assistant State Counsel. After completing his stint in Bamenda, he was appointed State Counsel of Kumbo, Bui Division. He was later transferred to Limbe as State Counsel and then back to Bamenda as Deputy Advocate-General. He was then appointed President of the High Court of Meme Division, where he stayed until his most recent appointment as Sub-Director of Professions at the Ministry of Justice in Yaounde.

Along the way, he earned many accolades and recognitions in Cameroon, Africa and the world, including his election as Regional Vice-President of the Commonwealth Judges and Magistrates Association. He also gave many speeches and lectures at international legal conferences around the world, including at the 9th International Conference of Chief Justices of the World in New Delhi, India.

Among his many social engagements, he was President of Prisons Club Buea, a team he loved from childhood. He also loved music, especially salsa and makossa and, of course, folklore.

Paul leaves behind six grieving children, a very large family and an even larger circle of friends in Cameroon and abroad. He’ll be sorely missed.

May his soul rest in perfect peace!
