Chapstick

March 23, 2011

I remember when I came to see you in the hospital and your leg was broken. You had the original flavored chapstick by your side. I eventually pulled out my cherry flavored one and put some on. Your response was " Let me get some?" I immediately said, "No" You then asked a few more times, even though yours was sitting right there. When I finally gave it to you, you put some on your lips. I looked at you like you were crazy. You smiled at me & said, "Now you kissed me" I was confused because my lip didn't touch yours, but you said both our lips touched the chapstick. LOL moment for me. RIP Much love always for you.

"sugar Diabete's"

March 21, 2011

When Paul and I was young kids on Saturday mornings we would get up to eat our favorite cereal.  Well for some reason we really enjoyed frosted flakes and I can remember sitting at the kitchen table, watching Paul pour all this extra sugar into his bowl.  I did not understand why he needed the extra sugar when we were already eating frosted flakes.  Any way I would sit there and look him in the eyes with no clue what I was talking about, I would tell him "boy you are going to have sugar diabetes when you get older"  So not funny but oh so true!  I did not know of the severity of Diabetes at that time, It was all a joke to us we knew it was something grandma had.  We also knew it had to do with the whole sugar deal.  He would look at me with those shinny eyes of his and say "shut up".  So years later when he got sick as a teenager and we found out that his was a diabetic he would say "Michelle jinks me with this" with a smile on his face.  About 3 weeks ago I said to him " I sure hope you don't blame me for what you are going through today" and he said to me on the other end of the phone baby girl I love you!
