Working with Pauline
I met Pauline and worked with her in the Post Office at Shaw Butte station. What I remember most about her is the way in which she geniunely cared for the customers on her route but even more so, for everyone she met.
The route she retired from is in the 53 Zone and Pauline delivered apartments and businesses on Bell Road from 31st Ave to 35th Ave. My memories of her involve her energic exhuberance, self confidence, postive spirit and the compassion she always had for everyone she met. Indicative of her caring spirit, she was involved in the retirement of other carriers from the Postal Service. True to form, when she decided to retire she did so without anyone knowing so as to not allow any attention given to her.
As a co-worker and friend, I loved her. I will miss her friendly smile, reassuring embrace and beautiful spirit. Peace, sweet one.
