Her Life

Blizzard of 1978

February 10, 2014

Nan was working as manager of Cumberland Farms in Rockdale and Gargue ( Bampi' s Dad) and Bampi Had to dig out our house with an excavator!
Bampi and a friend of his ( Im not sure who I think his name was Jerry) Brought Nan to Cumbys so they could open the store to sell milk, bread ect. (Record sales that day Im sure!)
Nan worked a few different jobs in her life...she worked at "The Mart" when it was  a department store in North Grafton for a little while, pricing clothes and helping customers. I remember going there to see her on her lunch break and all of her co workers loved her! She also loved her employee discount. :)
She worked a few summers at "Charlie's Fruit Stand" in Sutton, man was her boss Charlie a pig. LOL But she put him in his place and again charmed many people. And we had plenty of watermellon those summers!!
She worked in an office too, in South Grafton on Depot Rd, but it was only a few months and I was so wrapped up in my own life I cant remember what she did there.
And of course her longest running career ( outside of MOM) was "Sunrise Ceramics" at her home.. and in my memories, the best time of her life.  I hope all of her Grandchildren have something she made. It was 1980-something and Nan was Mid-fourties...By this time most of you have been around a bit and I bet you all have some stories of your own :) I know she loved every single one of you to the best of her ability and all of you were main topics of our loooong conversations...and her projections haven't been too far off, I miss our talks the most. xoxox
