In the main there were two officers who helped to shape my military life - Joe Henry who passed on several years ago, and Perry. The gratitude I owe each cannot be verbalized. Perry and I grew up in the Charlestown area, but we became closely connected only after I joined the GDF. We served the same God - he is in a good place. Dawn and family - PEACE!

Many nights my bridge was the meeting place for some Maths lessons from ' Sir Foo '.He was a Teacher, Gentleman and a Friend. R.I.P Sir Foo.

" Goodbye Perry, may the angels welcome you with the sound of trumpets".
Perry and I were Officer Cadets on SOC 2. A rather tough course; nothing seemed to bother him. . In later years, I came to the conclusion that he had swallowed the Manual of Staff Duties.
Rest In Peace, Perry Foo.

Perry was my senior at school; he had a grey patch at 14, you couldn't miss him. Plus he was always "cool", always even-tempered, never ruffled feathers, which we juniors appreciated. That carried over into the Army, and then to Vets. Service. I saw him last June in NY and barely exchanged a few words over 7 days; a regrettable state after 50 yrs. We must find time to talk to each other.
