What you leave behind is not what is engraved on stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.

Above quote is attributed to Pericles whose name means "surrounded by glory".

Like Pericles, Peter was surrounded by glorious family and friends.  Like Peter, Pericles was a great man and gifted orator.

In honor of an adored Son, Grandson, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, Father-In-Law and most cherished forever-friend.

Peter "Pedro" Michas wove his way into every life and heart he touched.

We who were lucky enough to have met him; are better for having known him.

Forever in our hearts. . . until we meet again.

"I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day and through
In that small cafe
The park across the way
The children's carousel
The chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you"

"No man is an iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee....""

"I was married to Peter (Panagiotis) for 22 years. Our sons are Dmitri and Jason Michas. I chuckled at Milton's tribute when he said Peter seemed more interested in the cats when visiting. When we lived in West Hollywood, Peter once brought home a tiny white kitten. He said he found it on a neighboring doorstep and wanted to keep it. He looked like a little boy who wanted to keep a puppy he'd found. Sadly, I told him he should return the well-cared for kitten to the house where he found it, as it was probably their cherished pet.
Over the years we did have several dogs, cats, birds, hamsters and a pet skunk of our own.
In 1962 we were expecting our first child when Pete's Mom stunned us by showing up on our doorstep all the way from Athens. To my dismay, she stayed over a year...so I learned a lot of Greek and she learned some English. We created a combo of both languages with a bit of pantomime added. This amused Peter's friends as we had developed our own private way of communicating."

"Conoci a Pedro hace aproximadamente 5 años.

"I remembered when Peter came to California, and visited me in San Diego with Dimitri and Robin.  I had two cats at the time and after he left, I wondered if Peter really came just to visit the cats. He showed such a love of these beautiful little animals.  Regrettably, we let time pass and before you know, it’s too late.  I always thought of visiting him in Florida."
