This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Peter Williams, 71, born on June 29, 1944 and passed away on September 16, 2015. We will remember him forever.


Services will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 11 am at First Lutheran, 1515 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

I always knew Pete as Mr. Williams. He had the greatest stories, weather it be about Virginia, his time in the military, raising the numerous children of the neighborhood and his church. I think about him often because I catch myself doing things he would correct me on. Whenever I worked with him in his yard or the one time I helped him with Meals on Wheels, he always taught me something. A great man with a great heart.

I send you much love. This is to the two of you having the time together, the memories you shared, the laughter and even the tears. All the time you almost missed. God give you joy in the memories, and strength to be what Peter would have wanted for you. Keep the fire of his love with you always.

I always loved when Friday's would come around because I knew Peter would be in. He always kept me on my toes. I remember I was putting a sign up in the dining room and he stood behind me and told me the sign was crooked. I looked at it and told him it wasn't, but still tried to fix it but couldn't get it straight enough. A few Friday's passed when I found a small level on my desk from a "Secret Admirer". You guessed it, it was from Peter. I still have that level at my desk and will think of him fondly every time I use it. Peter you are truly missed.

Peter shared many stories and life events with me over the years as we volunteered together at the Marian House. These are memories that will be with me forever. Peter and his heart of gold will be missed by all of us. On the day he passed, the Jerusalem Artichokes he gave us began to bloom in full glory, plants 8 feet tall with bright yellow sunflowers: Peter’s way of saying “all is well; I’m OK.” These plants will stay in my garden, bloom every fall, and give me strength to meet each day, just as Peter lived his life.

Peter was the type of volunteer at the Soup Kitchen that always did what was expected plus more. Many times I was told of things he quietly did not because he was asked but he saw that it had to be done. We enjoyed chatting and he never complained---always saying he was OK! He had strong character and I enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor.. I particularly enjoyed hearing about his young "billy goat" and the "billy goat's" progress in the accomplishments of his chores.

Peter will be missed---will never be replaced---but we will carry on--- with his spirit helping us along!

I am so sorry to hear about Peter. He had volunteered at the Marian House since before I became a staff member in 2008. In that year the Marian House moved from an old victorian home into the large commercial facility that it is now. Peter was so instrumental in the move as he provided his pick up and trailer to help move kitchen equipment from one building to the next. Just as important was his weekly gift of volunteering his time to help produce and serve the meals on Friday. His warm heart and smile will be missed by all he touched here at the Soup Kitchen. The Lord has brought a great man home!

This site is dedicated in loving memory of Peter Williams, who joined our Lord on September 16th, 2015. He has a grandchild on the way, who will need to learn about grandpa from the stories and memories of those Peter left behind. Please share stories and memories about Peter. He will be greatly missed by those he left behind, and will be remembered fondly by all.

Peter had the most amazing Doctor support over his long health struggles.  The most special was his gastroenterololgist, his medical tech. and his scheduler.
I would like to quote from the sympathy card they sent me after Peter's passing.

From the Doctor
"I am so sorry for your loss.  Peter was such a wonderful man and one of my favorite patients.  Every time I see a crossword puzzle, I will always think of Peter.  His visits always brought joy to my busy days.  I will forever remember Peter with fondest memories and consider myself privileged to have been his doctor. "

From Jane- the medical tech.
"There are no words to tell you how sorry I am for your loss.  Everytime you came in it made my day so much better.  He was my favorite patient of all times.  Please stay in touch."

From Kathy, our scheduler
"It always brought a smile to my face when I saw Peter's name on the schedule.  I loved his sence of humor.  I always enjoyed talking with both of you.  May God bless and keep your family.  You are in my prayers."

When Will and I first moved to Colorado, we stayed with Will's mom, Peg, and her husband Peter.  I was able to secure a job within the first week...it took Will a couple of more weeks to secure his job.  One day, I returned home from work, and Peter said, "You know, Will and I are the envy of the neighborhood.  We get up, send our women to work, and go back to sleep."  He pauses, and states, "Everyone wants to know how we did it."  He looks at Will and smirks.  Peter's eyes twinkle in complete amusement.  And then the discussion began.....
