A Wonderful Person - Phyllis

January 1, 2014

I met Phyllis years ago when she worked at Mini-Skools on Garth Street in Hamilton(1980). She was my boss at the time although it never felt that way. She was so full of love for others whether it be for her family, her staff, the families or children. I was a fairly recent graduate of ECE and she had such a strong influence on me. She always was so positive and interested in others.

I remember her hosting the Christmas party one year for all the staff and husbands, boyfriends, etc. There was always room for one more. It was such a great time. She was so generous in offering her home for the many staff and guests. We had alot of great laughs. Her smile was so warm and sincere.

Our paths went different directions but crossed again when I had my first child. She called in her role of visiting 1st time mothers. We had a great time catching up.
She shared her desire to do more than what she was doing at the time, which I knew she would. She never saw anything as being out of reach.

Over the years I periodically thought of her and wondered how she was. For some reason over the last few weeks she kept coming to mind so today I decided to google her. I was very sad to hear of her passing. At first I thought it must have been someone else.

My heart goes out to her friends and family. She was a wonderful person who touched many. I feel honoured to have  known her even for the short time I did.

Sincerely
