Dr. Pierre Roche Seka, of Abidjan, Ivory Coast returned to his heavenly home on October 30, 2015 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. 
Pierre Roche is survived by his wife Leontine Seka and children, Clarisse, Etienne, Aurelie,Arnaud,Boris,Hughes,Yann and Aniel Seka. He is preceded in death by his parent Etienne Koman and  Bah Mathild Seka of Bieby Yakasse Attobrou/ Adzope.


Pierre Roche was born on December 4, 1955 in a small town of Bieby Yakasse Attobrou -Adzope. He attended the University of Abidjan, graduating with a Master of Science (MS) in Economics in 1980. Pierre Roche looked for more education and arrived in Washington DC 1980 where he graduate with another MS Degree in Economics from Georgetown University in 1983. His passion for Economics earned him a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economic Science from Howard University in 1988 and a second Ph. D in (Aggregation) from the University of Dakar in Political Economy in 1999

 Pierre Roche worked for many financial institutions such as the World Bank (1984-1991 Washington, DC), Navy Academy (1986 Annapolis, Maryland), Brookings Institution (1987 Washington, DC), Arthur Andersen (1999 Dakar, Senegal),) African Development Bank (1999 Abidjan, Ivory Coast), International Labor Organization (Abidjan Ouagadougou ILO 2002),International Organization of la Francophonie IOF (France, Senegal, Guinea, Benin), African Union (Addis Abeba Ethiopia 2003) . He married his lovely wife Leontine Seka, in 1987 in Arlington VA, Pierre Roche helped raise children with patience, hard work, discipline, and humility. He taught them to read, write and solve complex equations, and often took them on long family trips to see the natural beauty of other states and cultures. His surviving children remember him as a driven, brilliant man, and a patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.


In addition to his illustrious career, Pierre was accomplished at teaching in many universities in Ivory Coast,Africa and around the world. He assisted the Ivorian Government with his skills while working for States Department of Plan and Development as Director of Cabinet and also as a CEO of National Pedagogical Institute of Technical and Vocational Education (IPNETP).

Pierre Roche will be remembered as an excellent Economist, an engaging father, and a leading figure in the community.
