Was remembering being 19 in 1972 Berkeley, and who was that fun and spirited girl I briefly hung out with? I have a picture of her looking up to the skies, arms out, wearing a macrame belt I'd made and given her. With some mental prodding, I remembered and searched "Pookie Faxon." There was the adult who definitely was that girl. Looks like she worked on a compilation of women's films in Berkeley that year for a women's study center. Of course! I was devastated to learn that she passed away, too young. What a sorrow. If anyone can write a few facts about her life, would love to know how she spent her years. Did she work with documentary film? I'm an ESL teacher in Vallejo, forever shaped by those formative times. My condolences to Pookie's family. She had grace, ease, and spunk that I will always remember.

Just found this site when looking for posts about Pru.
I had the luck to meet her through a mutual friend many year ago.
She had a unique spirit which always raised mine when we were in touch.
The memory has not dimmed.

So sorry to learn of Prudence's death! I had not been in touch with her for a good many years, so I did a google search and here we are. I first met her while doing my M.F.A. in film at UCLA, and from time to time I ran into her at events of one sort or another. I am saddened to hear of her death, and I'm so sorry I hadn't been in touch in recent years. Rob, if you feel up to it, please let me know something of her final years. I hope she had a peaceful death.
