Ralph Aiken Pope Jr., 94, passed away at home, Sunday,August 17, 2014.

He was a native of Granville County, born December 22, 1919 to the late Ralph Pope Sr. and Carmen Peace Pope. He served in the US Army during WWII.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 19,2014 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev. Michael Edwards. Interment will follow in the family cemetery on Pope Road in Creedmoor.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith Holmes Pope, sons, Michael Pope of Durham , Bruce Pope and wife Linda and granddaughter, Emma all of Hendersonville, two sisters, Carmen Hoyle of Sanford, Mildred Peed of Creedmoor and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Billie Weeks.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the funeral service in the fellowship hall and at other times at the home.

He was one of a kind, I've loved him for 45 years and will miss him! But, he lived a full life and was married to one the sweetest women you will ever meet. Was so proud of Mike, Bruce and Emma (who wouldn't be).

Thoughts & prayers for R.A. Family.Jack & I thought a lot of R.A.. May each & everyone find peace in knowing he is without pain and in the arms of his heavenly father. Mickey you are so special to me and I wish I could take away the pain. May God Bless all.
