This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Ray Carpenter, 64, born on February 7, 1945 and passed away on November 22, 2009. We will remember him forever.

Ray was born February 7, 1945 in Pima, AZ to Albert and Maybelle Carpenter. 
Ray served a mission in the Eastern Atlantic States from 1964-1966. Ray graduated from Arizona State University, where he met his sweetheart, Gloria Boyd. They were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple, April 10, 1968.

Ray taught elementary education in Tempe, Arizona for 30 plus years. Ray had a great love and talent for music. 
Ray was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many church callings, his last being ordained a Stake Patriarch as he laid unconscious in the hospital bed shortly before he passed from this life. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Maybelle Carpenter, his brother, Eddie Carpenter, and sister, Alberta Johnson.
Ray is survived by his wife Gloria, of 41 years. His children Shawna (David) Hall, Kara Carpenter, Tanya (Todd) Edgmon, David (April) Carpenter, Darla (Joey) Bennett, and Derek (Kellyn) Carpenter. He has 11 grandchildren, and 3 brothers, Ross (Pam) Carpenter of St. Johns, AZ, Dick (Ada) Carpenter of Mesa, AZ, and Mannie (Linda) Carpenter of Mesa, AZ. 

Ray was buried in the Eden cemetary, where his father, mother and other loved ones lay to rest. He is missed greatly and we will always love him.
