First we would like to thank all those who have supported our Mom during this difficult time.  Especially Joe and Mary, we are forever grateful for your generosity and compassion.

This week we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to our dad and our daughters had to say goodbye to their Grampy. Even though we feel as if our time with him wasn’t enough, we really were fortunate to have had him with us for as long as we did.  During that time we were able to create everlasting memories.  Memories of special occasions, birthdays, vacations, and jokes. These memories will carry us through the years to come.  A day does not go by without something passing our glance that brings him back to us by a memory.  We take peace that he is in a place where he can continue to watch over us as we live with him in spirit.

Words from Isabella (his eldest granddaughter 6 ½ years old)

I think that Grampy is up in Heaven.  His heaven is different than Maggie’s (our old dog) heaven.  When asked what it looked like she responded, “It is a golf course”.   When asked what Grampy does up there she answered, “He sits in a chair and watches golf and uses the Ipad”.  “Oh and he eats black licorice and pretzels with spicy mustard”.  And then I asked what his favorite thing to say was, and she responded, “to call me a butt monkey”.
