The best friend and father that anyone could have wished to have. The world lost a great person with his passing, as Ray was the life of any project he was involved in. He never met a stranger! May he smile down from heaven upon all of us.

RAY WAS GOOD, HE GOT ME FOR TWENTY BUCKS AT THE MEMORIAL ON RT81 YEARS BACK, ALSO TALKED ME OUT OF MY POLICE BADGE AND ID, AT THE MOTEL IN VA. TO PULL A TRICK ON CHARLES MARTINEZ, FOR TAKING PICTURES IN FT MEYRS, AND HAD A GUY DRESSED IN A SUIT USE MY ID TO SCARE MARTY, THINKING HE WAS ABOUT TO BE LOCKED UP BY THE CIA. POOR MARTY I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO HAVE THE BIG ONE. EVERY BODY IN THE ROOM WAS IN ON IT EXCEPT MARTY, AFTER THE FACT, MARTINEZ WAS SNEAKING UP BEHIND ME WITH A ICE COLD PITCHER OF WATER, AND I SAW HIM AND SAID IT WASN'T ME IT WAS YOUR BUDDY RAY, WELL GUESS WHO GOT THE ICE WATER? I'LL NEVER FORGET IT COULDN'T HAVE WENT BETTER, I HAVE SOME PIC'S OF RAY AND ME AT A BAR, BUT NOT SURE HOW TO LOAD THEM SORRY. RIP RAY WE ALL MISS YOU.
The highlights of my year were to spend time with Ray and " Big " John at their Spring Fling, and to stay with Ray and Janney in their "Doghouse " at the Blue Ridge Chapter picnic, etc., so it means a lot to me to see a photo I took of Ray, Maj. Norman McKay, and Barbara Gavin-Fauntleroy on Ray's memorial website. Ray will always be missed.
Ray was a very good friend of mine and my brother Johnny. Always smiling and a good guy to have as a friend. He loved to talk about the good times we had growing up. I salute him as a very good friend of mine. We shared our memories when the Marine Corps League was still operating. I also saw him when I visited someone in Charlottesvile at the hospital. Still smiling and whitty. God Bless.
