To the family of Reginald Stroud: I, too, met Stroud at the University of Alabama. He was my Tau Nu brother, and a very kind, respectful guy. My prayer for you is that during this time you will experience our heavenly Father as "the God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our tribulations/troubles..." He will sustain you!

Stroud (for some reason, I never called him anything else) was like a big brother to me even though we were the same age; he was always the mature guy in the group. I got to know him well in Tau Nu at the U of Alabama and had only recently re-connected with him. He is truly missed and my condolences go out to the family. Our hearts goes out to the Stroud family during this difficult loss. Reginald brought so many happy moments in our life and left us with a treasure trove of memories.
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived, and that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. I love you my brother, friend, and cousin, rest in peace. (Tony)

Reggie, my friend and brother

March 18, 2014
It's hard to think of any particular story involving Reggie because there have been so many moments that stand out. Can one write of true inspiration from another's actions - or explain the impact and life altering events that one has eloquent enough to be understood? Reggie was a true friend. But saying that feels so trivial and trite when one remembers a life that was inspirational. I don't know what happened in Reggie's past that made him such a good man, one that loved his family with such ferocity that I could feel it. His wisdom in life emanated from him. His patience was astounding. I admired Reggie for who he was. I loved him for the friendship he offered and counsel he gave. I called him brother often, but he rarely returned the sentiment. He told me one evening as we were making rounds through the plant that he thought of that, and he felt it, but those were just words and they didn't seem to define the sentiment he felt. But he was my friend and brother and he wanted me to know that. He would smile as we jibed each other. Reggie will never be gone from us. He lives in his children and the memories he offered for us to cherish. He lives in Mary's heart. I can only speak for myself, but I know many others who feel the same: Reggie enhanced all of our lives; he made us better. That is not gone. That is something that can never be pulled or taken from us. Thank you Reggie for the love and friendship you gave this world. You are missed, my friend.
