Obituary

March 30, 2013

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
II Timothy 4:7

Sunday, March 24, 2013, one we loved and knew stepped across the threshold that we call death, but it was only a step into another room, and not a stepping out of the fellowship of Life.  It was a step into one of the other rooms of our Father’s house. The noises of the world make it hard for us to hear the still small voice beyond the door; the world’s bright lights blinded our eyes to the soft glare of eternity.

Dr. Armstrong is at peace with God now and rejoicing in his happy heavenly home. We must not mourn as those without hope, for Dr. Armstrong has gone to get the great reward promised to all who faithfully serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To his family he was loving and faithful striving always to keep them happy and in material comforts in life. He reared his children in the fear of the Lord and aided many others to come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lige and Henrietta Armstrong; three brothers, Elijah (Sonny Boy), Willie James, and Joseph Armstrong; one granddaughter, Kiara Graci’Anna Sanders.

He leaves to cherish his memories a very loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Jacquelyn Armstrong; one daughter, Cynthia (Kevin) Sanders, Urbana, IL; five sons, Tony Armstrong, Brandon, MS, Rev. Johnny Armstrong, Carthage, MS, Timothy (Leshaundra) Armstrong-Muhammad, Jackson, MS, Pastor Dr. Christopher (Adrienne) Armstrong, Indianapolis, IN, Marcus (Desiree) Armstrong, Stanton, NE; one step-daughter, Jamie (Rodriquez) Peoples, Moss Point, MS; one step-son, Otis Jay Hopkins, Laurel, MS; one sister, Joyce Nell Jones, Beaumont, MS; a very special sister-in-law, Mary Jean Armstrong, Chicago, IL; 20 Grandchildren, 6 Great- Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
