Reverend George Webb 80, of Mecosta Mi. went to be with his Lord on Monday November 4th, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. George was born on April 9th 1933 in Cove Gap W.V.A. One of 9 children born to Zachery and Evie (Toppins) Webb. On Oct 5th 1952 he married the love of his life Glenna Jean, He told his dad when he first saw her sitting on her porch that he was going to marry her someday. He did not even know her, They courted for 2 years then married. This love story went on for a blessed 61 years. They had 3 beautiful daughters. Katherine Webb Johnson, Carolann Webb Keith, and Brenda Lee Webb Wernett. He had a adopted Indian daughter Sandra Dale. Loved her as his own. Godsons Perry and Noel Burkeen. Upon retirement from GM in 1984 the family moved to their property in Mecosta Mi. George heard The Lord calling to become a minister in his early thirties, He became Associate Pastor at Kirby Freewill Baptist Church In Taylor Mi. Which let him to be the Assistant Pastor at Liberty Freewill Baptist Church in Detroit Mi, Then the Pastor of Trinity Freewill Baptist Church in Warren Mi, without ever taking pay. This is a true Pastors heart. He led by example and ministered until his passing. He leaves behind his beloved wife Glenna Jean Webb. His oldest daughter Kathy passed on January 23, 2014, Carolann , and Brenda, all from Mecosta,and 2 Grandsons Jayson Johnson (Shelly) of Reed City Mi, also Jeramie Fields of Southgate Mi. 9 great grandchildren, He was predeceased by his only granddaughter Georgina Ann Keith on June 24th 2013. He leaves 3 brothers . Hurston Webb, Oak Webb and Arlie Webb, 3 sisters, Velva Adams, Minnie Lemieux and Easter Gilland, predeceased by Norma Wiley and Benny Webb.
