Revis Wayne Brazle

May 16, 1929-Nov. 2, 2013

Revis Wayne Brazle of Ladoga died at 8:20 p.m. Nov. 2, 2013, at Ben Hur Health & Rehab at Crawfordsville.

He was born May 16, 1929, to Milas and Lily Grandfield Brazle at their farm near Brownstown, Ill.

He attended a one-room schoolhouse and graduated from Brownstown, Ill. High School. He worked on the family farm and at Caterpillar until he served in the U.S. Army in 1951-1953 as a pharmacy tech. He enrolled at Lincoln Bible Institute, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministry in 1957.

On Aug. 18, 1956, he and Rogene Cunningham were married in Terre Haute at the Maple Ave. Christian Church. Rogene also graduated from Lincoln Bible Institute and together they served churches at Ramsey, Ill., Brazil, Arlington and New Market. In addition they led music for many revivals in the Terre Haute, Brazil area. They were dedicated to young people which resulted in about 15 men and women entering some area of ministry. Revis was a member of the Ladoga Christian Church.

Revis is survived by his wife of 57 years and two children, Jane (Brian) Travis of Crawfordsville and Joel (Mischy) Brazle of Henderson, Nev.; five grandchildren, Daniele (Michael) Kalwat of Irving, Texas, Tim Montoney of Crawfordsville, Sarah (Jason) Gray of Winchester, and Ewan and Maple Brazle of Henderson, Nev.; two sisters and two brothers, Wilma (Joe) Kruger, Vernon (Judy) Brazle, Linda Cunningham, all of Brownstown, Ill., and Kenneth (Gail) Brazle of Cadiz, Ky.; mother-in-law Marie Cunningham of Terre Haute; and brother-in-law Doug (Deb) Cunningham of Pekin, Ill., as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; brother Fredrick; and father-in-law John Cunningham.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at Servies & Morgan Funeral Home, Ladoga. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Nov. 8 at Berea Christian Church on South Waterworks Road, Brazil, with Ansil Harpold officiating. There also will be visitation from 10 a.m. to noon at the church. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery at Brazil with military honors at the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to American Rehabilitation Ministries and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
