Beloved Doctor
Dr. Witzig was my family doctor from age 19 until I moved away 8 yrs. later. He delivered 3 of my kids. As a young mother (18-23) I took my kids to the ER every time they had a fever. (I had a nephew who died of crib death when I was pregnant with my first child and I was so afraid it would happen to one of mine). Every single time, no matter what he had been doing, he came to the hospital. He didn't need to or have to. He had a great sense of humor and he sincerely cared about his patients. There will never be another like him. I loved him like family. I have thought about him over the years. I'm sure he'll be missed by many who, like me, were blessed to know him.

The Golden Age of Riviera Mar
For the Readhimer family, Dr. Witzig will always be fondly remembered for his wit and consideration for others during our time we spent enjoying his company in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico. He was gentle and kind and his humor was contagious. Back in 1983 as a new parent of our first born (Natalie) it was Dr. Witzig that comforted me and told me how to control her fever. It was he who helped my father James (now 80) with his neck and back pain after a nasty fall down the concrete steps at Riveria Mar.
Then of course there were the Condo owners annual meetings with Dr. Witzig and his cheeful presence enjoying life but alway having time to listen to anyone that would stop by his ocean view slice of paradise.
Our sincere sympathy to Mary and Dr. Witzig's family as well as our thanks for having the blessed opportunity to know him as a friend.
