Speed dail .....

April 8, 2016

RC and I worked together over a 15 period at three different businesses.  RC never forgot a phone number and he could speed dial quicker than a gunfighter.  At one point there on Miramar Road things had gotten pretty competitive with the competition.  So just for fun and before speed dail and all this fancy electronic stuff RC would speed dial one competitor then hit the conference call button and speed dial another competitor left handed without looking at the phone. The outcome was always predictable and hilarious and would go  something like this; "Hello US Rentals" then "Hello Hertz Rentals"  then the fun began ....  "You called what do you want", "no you called what do you want?"  Then as things got real heated and interesting click and that was it! What a riot and stress relief from our crazy rental world!!

Another time we were out making sales calls in his company Ford Taurus. Well as you all know he always drove like Mario Andretti and we were hauling ass down Hwy 78 behind a 1 ton flatbed. The next thing you know the flatbed ran over over some sheets of drywall in the road and stood one sheet up on its side and end to end across the lane right in front of us .......  It looked like a white brick wall and RC just drove right through it without even slowing down, it fealt like he stepped on the gas! The sheet of drywall disintegrated into a big white cloud of dust and we just kept going! We both looked at each other in disbelief and amazement! It didn't even left a mark on the car. It was pretty wild being the passenger and not knowing what to expect!  But in typical RC fashion he made an instant decision and it all worked out for the best! Wow what a ride!  What a guy !

Family

April 3, 2016

Ric has been a huge part of my life.  His spirit and soul have helped me in so many facets of living in this crazy world.  I felt his peace and love with every encounter.  I was welcomed as part of his lovely family and he gladly proclaimed the title of godfather to my children when they were born.  Our points of view, though not always the same, invited a conversation to understanding that my way of thinking is just that, my way, not everyone's way.  I feel so fortunate to have been in his world, see our children grow up together, going through the good times and the painful times always united.  He is truly a force for the good, just and loving now and forever.  Ric you are truly missed my dear.

Peace & Love,

Ren Faire

March 6, 2016

For several years when Jared was still little, we used to go to all the local Renaissance Faires. We'd get all decked out in costumes, eat turkey legs, and buy a bunch of stuff we didn't need. Fun times!

Bumps

March 6, 2016

Ric could have been a master carpenter. He loved building things and working with wood. I don't think I ever saw him actually measure anything though, and he had a knack for just "eyeballing" things & they'd fit.

Whenever he was working on a project, he always managed to bump his head. Somewhere along the line we started calling him "Bumpa", a combination of bump and grandpa. "Bumps" for short.
