Richard Espino, DC

Ritch was lost to his family and many friends on January 28, 2010. He is survived by his three sons Ritch Jr., Joey, and Nico Espino of Oregon City, his two sisters Marisela Cruz and Liz Gomez of Anaheim, California and preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Alicia Espino.

Ritch was born April 11, 1951 in Los Angeles, California. He spent his early years in Compton and moved to Artesia in grade school.  After graduating from high school in 1969 he attended Life Bible College in Los Angeles, formed a traveling gospel band called “Lord Led” and continued to be active in the Foursquare Church in many pastoral, youth and music ministries both in the Pacific Northwest and Canada.
Ritch married Jan Smith in 1981 and settled in Canby.  Their son Ritchie was born in 1984. 
Ritch earned his AA Degree from Clackamas Community College in 1987 and earned his Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine from Western States Chiropractic College in 1990.   He began working as an instructor at Clackamas Community College in 1989, and retired from a chiropractic practice at Lovejoy Chiropractic Clinic in 2007. 
In 1994 Ritch married Jessica Coyle. They had two sons, Joey born in 1995 and Nico born in 1996.
Ritch enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends and his sons. He had a love for cars new and old. He had a passion for music and playing with his band. Along with his many activities, Ritch was closely involved with his friend Ricardo Espinosa’s restaurant Tacho’s in Oregon City.
Ritch was lead instructor in the Anatomy and Physiology Program at Clackamas Community College and was a mentor to many of his students. His presence at the college will be missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Ritch’s life was held in Gregory Forum at Clackamas Community College, 19600 Molalla Avenue, Oregon City at 2 pm on Saturday, February 13, 2010.
