Please leave a note or funny story telling me how you knew Dad.
"As I think of the passing of my dad, I feel for my friends who now mark the passing of a year. Time and distance may allow views that are fresh and renewed memories that we want to keep closer in the upcoming year."
"I cant believe he is gone...Ive been living in GA and just found out the funniest man in the world is gone. I just for some reason was thinkin of him and saw this. I wanna cry. Wherever up there he lands he will be making all laugh. I just don't believe this. Zeke I wish I could have laughed with u one more time."
"Reed, I remember you and visiting you and Richie on the farm. If I remember correctly was it you that was raising a cow named Dinner and a pig named Breakfast!!! I also remember your "business venture" you and my brother ran up north. You were a real good friend to him when the venture went bad. Thanks for being his friend."
"mad at him. We raised Mark and Adria like they were brother and sister rather than cousins. They were always together. I was heartbroken when he moved to Nashville but I do know how much he loved it down there and truly never wanted to come back to Boston. I feel him with me all of the time and know we will reunite some day. Love and miss you."
"I miss my brother so much but I know he is in a better place. We grew up very close, fought occasionally like any siblings, but shared many great times. I had my friends, he had his and then there were "our" friends. I always wanted to date his friends and always wondered why none of them ever asked me out until one of them told me he threatened them if they ever went near me. I was so"
we'll raise a glass of cheer and think of the great memories we had...good times then and new horizons in the future!
Hold on ...We're commin'"
"Happy Birthday Dad. I miss you."
"We all have a river to cross and an ocean to sail.
The "Other side" waits for us all.
The Z-Man will have some cool Mansions built for us by then.
<3 my old friend."
"The long commute back and forth to their jobs proved too much for the laid back NH country life, so after they moved back to the Boston area I saw them only a few times when they ventured north.
Oh too be forever young, but life calls and the pendulum of time never stops."
"Later we formed a business partnership of sorts and spent many good times in the Harvard square "office".
Times were going so good we moved our enterprise north to New Hampshire where I tried my hand @ farming....which proved a failier.
Anyways to avoid rambeling...Dickey and Linda had good times "up north"....I'll never forget the day they wed :)"
"Hi Adria...and all Richard's friends,
The first time Zeke and I met was way back in the late 60"s.
Eb Tide, Revere Beach and the infamous Donuts Please.
We had several things in common ...drag-racing being one of them.
He and Ray Ghizzoni had a AA dragster."
"Zeke was a great friend to Mary and myself. In 2007 we decided to remodel and update our house. It was a struggle until we enlisted Zeke as the project manager. Under his guidance we were able to install new floors, paint the inside of the house and install new granite counter tops. We will always remember for Zeke his help and friendship."
"My cousin Zeke! Left Cambridge so long ago. Adria, when I was a teenager, and your dad was fixing up an old Etsel, yup that's the name of a car from way back when, I visited a lot and you where just a little girl. I had a lot of fun with your mom and dad! Well, he is with his dad and mine now, I can just image what's going on there :-) Cousin Richie, rest in peace and may God bless."
"I miss you,I miss your sense of humor, your ability to make me laugh and even some of your sarcastic comments. I am glad I spent the time with you that I did & I have no regrets. Zeke, I love you & miss you. Lucky misses you too.Jeez I guess everybody really does put everything out here on the internet."
"Petach, he talked about you a lot and even told me he had beaten you at some type of game when you visited him. Mike, Nancy he was always very surprised how well read Michael was. Was it Moby Dick that he was so impressed that you had read? Gail, he loved working for you, you didn’t try to tell him how to do things and he appreciated that. Shelly he missed seeing you & going to the Alle"
"obviously I am leaving too much info but I will continue, I am almost done."
"John, he enjoyed working for you more than anyone else. Mickey, he respected & admired you. Lori, he loved you & could not believe how good a mother you are. Carrie, you saved me that summer and he always loved you. Lewis, Stephanie he talked about yall and at the nursing home & swore yall visited him. Stephanie he even had me get up & look down the hall to see if I could see you comin"
"You & I had some very special friends. Friends that were there thru thick & thin I apologize in advance for not mentioning everyone. First of all Pam, I can never thank you enough for everything you did. Marcia, Zeke considered you and Rendy his best friends what more can I say? Pete & Mary, he loved yall. Les & Tim & all the guys at the Gerst house you were his retirement Center until"
"He could always make me laugh or mad as hell depending on his mood. It took me awhile to learn to ignore a lot of his sarcastic comments. You took good care of my house, tried to keep me organized, I learned a lot about cooking from you Yankee Pot Roast & Lia’s favorite salad. I missed your help on the holidays I can’t move all the tables & cook too. Michael had to make the mashed potato"
"We had our differences and you were unable to change. I could not watch you be so unhealthy and do nothing about it. I drug you to the hospital twice but you never followed thru. I hope everyone understands that Michael & I did everything we could do to get him to go to the hospital those last 2 weeks, he just wouldn’t go. I sat there and Michael begged him to just let him put you in t"
"You always had an opinion right or wrong & you loved to argue especially with Lynne our neighbor. Lynne came to dinner & they would disagree about nothing &talk for hours, I usually went to bed. All the people on the hill miss you especially Miss Wall she asked about you & prayed for you every Sun but she went first so hopefully yall can sit on the porch & listen to Rendy play music."
"Zeke was my friend & lover for many years. I met him at a time in my life that I needed someone I could trust, someone that made me laugh, and it helped that he was handy around the house. I also knew & liked his ex wife & thought she must have pretty good taste. You were big enough & mean enough to keep my ex husband from bothering me and not many men would have wanted to or could have"
"Adria, the pictures that I just posted are from Oct 25th, 2008. He liked those pictures when I sent him a copy. I'll miss his oddball sense of humor."
"I only knew Zeke for a short time. He was very funny and we had great times together. He was outgoing and made everyone feel at home. I know where he is now he is telling a story to make people laugh and having a good time. He will be missed by many."
"Surely missed..Did a lot of work with Zeke..always commenting on process with a unique style of swamp yankee sarcasm..incredibly well read..and I loved to talk story about hot rod racing back in the day..priceless ! I miss him dearly and think of him often."
"Zeke was my friend. We had great conversation. He was very intelligent. He had a ready laugh, especially when I would call him on something he thought he knew everything about. I'll miss our working together, cribbage games and gatherings at Zeke and Gaye's. I'm sure God has a room up there that Zeke can renovate. Love, hugs and kisses."
"My families' thoughts and prayers are for you throughout this chapter in your family life. Your friends at the office grieve with you as we relate to our own feelings brought back at this time. God bless you."
"1967-Zeke was about to turn 21. Slim, smart, sarcastic, and a magnet to this 17 year old at the Donuts Please lunch counter. A seeming lifetime of New England Dragway and garage dates later-1970- my husband, and father of our beautiful daughter, Adria. Wouldn't trade a thing. God bless you Zeke, my love."
"Dad passed quietly on Monday evening. Plans for a memorial service will be posted once they have been confirmed with his sister. I look forward to reading your posts and meeting with you all in the future."
