Rives Williams Taylor Jr., 84, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Granville Medical Center.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Dr. Rives W. Taylor and Ella Brodie Jones. He attended High School, VES in Lynchburg, Virginia and Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. He was a member of the Butner Civitians Club and N.C. State Employees Association. He attended the Community United Methodist Church in Butner and was employed at John Umstead Hospital for twenty-eight years.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Elmwood Cemetery in Oxford by Rev. Brock Myer.

Surviving are a sister, Martha Taylor Yeargin and husband Neil of Greensboro, a brother, Dr. Richard L. Taylor and wife Julia Hamme of Oxford, a niece, Anna Rives Ruth, two nephews; Neil Yeargin, Jr. and Richard Lewis Taylor, Jr.

Visitation will follow the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Community United Methodist Church in Butner, 507 W E St., Butner, N.C. 27509
