In honor of Bob's life, his family and friends will be holding a memorial service to be held on February 25, 2014 at the offices of Viscogliosi Bros., LLC in New York City. 

The service is scheduled at 12pm - 2pm. The office is located at 505 Park Avenue at 59th Street,  14th Floor New York, NY 10022. 

 

 

The life of Robert C. Dunne, Jr.

Robert Cartwright Dunne, Jr. – A distinguished Wall Street Analyst and Portfolio Manager for Orthopedic Investment Partners Fund, LLC,  at Viscogliosi Bros., LLC passed into eternal life at Richmond University Medical Center, Staten Island, New York on December 25th.  His age was 77. 

Mr. Dunne was born in Brooklyn,  raised in Locust Valley, Long Island, New York.  He graduated from the elite Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, where through his parents' passion, Mr. Dunne developed his high standards of community service and global responsibility. Mr. Dunne was a driven scholar with a desire to  help in the nurturing of his friends and colleagues. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in English from Cornell University and a M.B.A. from  New York University. Mr. Dunne enlisted in the US Army, serving his country on active duty then as a reservist .

This tireless pioneer was well known as an astute stock picker and senior healthcare research analyst for many prominent investment firms.  At Viscogliosi Bros, LLC, Mr. Dunne managed Orthopedic Investment Partners Fund, LLC a portfolio of healthcare investments.  Mr. Dunne was previously employed by Wasserstein Perella & Co., Fahnestock & Co., Martin Simpson & Co., and Bankers Trust. Mr. Dunne was  a member of the New York Society of Securities Analysts, and a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Away from Wall Street, Mr. Dunne was active in his local community and enjoyed golf. He was a member of The Tuxedo Club, The Nassau Country Club, and the Cornell Club.  Mr. Dunne led a life of giving. He has helped college candidates achieve their dreams of attending Cornell University as he volunteered and lead the Staten Island Cornell University Interviewing Committee.  Mr. Dunne was also the past president of the Staten Island Democratic Association, the Treasurer of the Lathrope Voorspuy Memorial Scholarship Fund, a member of the Board of Community Health Action, and a member of the Board of the Staten Island Chamber Music Players. 

Mr. Dunne is preceded in death by his parents Marie Pickup and Robert Cartwright Dunne, both of Long Island, New York.  Mr. Dunne is survived by his former wife, Ms. Jane Brightman and his cousins, Mr. William Eakins, Ms. Pamela Wharton, Ms. Penelope McMillan, William’s daughter, Amelia Eakins and Pamela Wharton’s daughters, Amy Lovett and Holly Marshall.

Additionally, Mr. Dunne is survived by friends and a loving family of associates at Viscogliosi Bros., LLC where he considered his home away from home for the last 10 years.

Mr. Dunne’s donated his physical body to science where his generous spirit continues to touch the lives of others at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn New York.

An honorary memorial service and a celebration of life will be held in February. Date and location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Community Health Action of Staten Island.
