A Unique Gift
I did not know Bob, but my good friend Les Goertz who passed away in 2016 was a long-time recipient of the Challenge Newsletter for almost 30 years.

Les' widow and very good friend Vernagean has been cleaning out his office and she asked me if I would be interested in his collection of newsletters. He saved every one as you can see in the attached photo.
The newsletters obviously meant a lot to Les, and for me, having only begun reading them, they will certainly be of immense value to me as well!
Thank you very much for your ministry! Rob Schulz Abbotsford, B.C. Canada
Thru the the Blizzard with BOB
After a late fall business trip to Grand Junction, I was anxious to return to Colorado Springs, and had decided to take Independemce Pass to shorten the journey, even though a huge first storm of winter was predicted. I started up the pass as two patrolmen were lowering the gate to close the pass. They said I was crazy, but let me go ahead. In just a few minutes, the storm hit with a fury. I pulled to the side even thought there were no cars o f trucks coming or going. The pass was closed!
I reached into my emergency bag and found several casettetapes: Bob Foser at the Ranch1997; Bob Foster at Leadership Prayer Breakfast; and Dec 4,2002-Bob Foster at CBMC lunch, etc,.etc. I couldn't see much through the blizzard, but concentrated on Bob's enclouraging wisdom, and kept CALM. After many hours, I reached the bottom on East side to the surprise of the troopers guarding the access. When they asked how did yo do it? I said "Jesus." When they asked me who guided me, I said "Bob Foster."
What a life worth living and what an inspiration to me.
Blessings to all the Foster Family on Bob going Home!.

I am so sorry Mark & I can't attend Big Bob's memorial service. He was such an incredible man of God. I know when the Lord met him in heaven, He said "well done, good and faithful servant". I have so many fond memories...here is just one...Bob officiating our wedding...circa 1977.
Much love to you all.

Hey Bob. I am really sad to hear that your dad past. You and Karen have been such an influence in my life and I would love to be there to support you both during this time. Unfortunately I will be unable to. This brings me to the part of how much my life has changed since being a part of your family and working at Lost Valley. Next week I will be leading worship at youth camp for 150 middle school kids and is the reason I can not attend. My time at the ranch and the influence of Bob Sr. and You are the reason that my life is what it has become. I started my faith journey at the ranch and still cherish the teaching and grooming I received there. I know that Bob Sr. is seeing the Glory of our Creator and that is the comfort and joy of our faith. I will most definitely be thinking about it this week as our team ministers to the youth. Please pass my love, gratitude and condolences to your family.
Spiritual Grandfather
Bob invested time and life into Ford Madison, who turned around and did the same thing for me (and many others). It has impacted all I've done - for ten years as a missionary with Greater Europe Mission (at the European Bible Institute in Lamorlaye, France) and as a pastor for the last 22 years. Rick and Lucy were a year ahead of me at Wheaton. I'm grateful for the Foster family. Bob's book, "The Navigator," has always been a challenge for me to keep on reproducing.
