|May the memory of Robert (Butch) be with us always and forever.|
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Robert (Butch) Wenger, 65, born on August 14, 1947 and passed away on October 16, 2012. We will remember him forever with deepest love.
All 2010 Oregon scenic photos posted here were taken by Butch.
"Fondly remembered ..."
"I think of you often Butch . Happy birthday in heaven. Love and miss you.
"Happy Birthday in Spirit. You are so deeply loved and missed by so many."
"Some more old photos found and posted. Bob with Jill when she was a baby and when I met him in 1970."
"Everyone said goodbye to nephew Andrew Hawley today in Arizona. He is now with his mother Pat, Uncle's Butch and Tim, his grandparents and many other relatives who have passed on. Godspeed Andy, we will miss you. I am posting a recent photo of Andy with his Uncle Donald. Andy is on the right."
"When Butch and I were together and life became overwhelming we would hug each other for a long time and he would say "care and sorrow, God Bless us each and every one". Honoring your time with us today and wishing I had your profound wisdom. If tears and wishing could bring you back you would be here now. Thanks for our time together."
"Yes, Butch's Star Rover song was written from his love of a Jack London book that he read as a child.
'You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club" Jack London"
"The Star Rover is a story of reincarnation. A soul in flux standing discovers how to withstand the torture by entering a kind of trance state, in which he walks among the stars and experiences portions of past lives.
Happy Cosmic Birthday Big bro."
"Happy Cosmic Birthday. Thinking of you."
"Love you, miss you and wish you were here, You would so love our baby grandson. I wish he could grow up knowing you and learn from you. May you sit at the hand of God. Lighting this candle for you as you always lit candles for everyone when you were here."
"Butch made some of the best salsa in the world! He had two different secret ingredients, the first was a special blend of spices that took him years to master. The 2nd was the love and positive energy he put into the lime juice just before he mixed it in with the rest of the ingredients. He would take a moment to say a prayer and to conscientiously put positive energy into his creation! That's why it tasted amazing!!! I thank you for teaching me this wonderful trick! Love you!!!"
I think of you often and I also think of Robert, you two seem like a perfect match together. He sounds like a great guy always helping others. I wish I would have had a chance to meet him. Blessings and
Love, Angelika Christensen"
"Happy Birthday. Miss you and wish you were here."
"I am posting a photo of a beautiful quilt my cousin Rebecca Laine made and donated to raise funds for Hospice. Entitled "Remembering Two Cousins" please click on the quilt photo to learn more. My late husband would love this quilt and he would recognize the love and care that came from the heart in making it. I will also post a story about two other quilts from my cousin in "His Life" section, time permitting. My hope is that all family members and friends will share stories and fun and interesting things remembered about him.
A special request for prayers for one of Butch's cats. Jelli2k has kindly been adopted and is cared for by our nephew Andy and we have learned that she has cancer as well as a problem with one eye. Please keep both she and Andy in your thoughts and prayers as this is difficult for him as well. There is a photo of Jelli kissing Butch on the site as a kitten, she is a very sweet little calico girl.
"One in a million...shine on my sweet loved one"
"Love you...you are missed...
another photo found and added"
"Miss you so much. May you be at peace."
"I posted photos today of our daughter Jill with our baby grandson Cole.
I got to spend time with him and he has lots of his grandpa in him! He is a delightful little baby! Wish you were with us in the physical, I know you are with us in spirit."
"Happy Birthday Dad. Glad you are at peace now. Love and miss you."
"Missing you and thinking of you with warm loving memories today on what would be your 66th birthday. You are never forgotten on earth and Heaven is even more special because you are there. You are loved."
"I thought of you today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part. God has you in His arms. I have you in my heart. unknown quote"
"Dear Jo, My brother Lloyd Lovato told me about one of his best friend's, Butch, passing. I am so sorry. I Pray His promise of Comfort stays with you as long as you need Him. Heaven has gained the Angel we lost. Peace and God Bless you, Ann"
"Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling ! Oh Precious Lord .. take my hand!
BUTCH'S LOVE FOR ANIMALS PROPELLED HIM TO A HIGHER PLACE IN GOD'S KINGDOM. HE NOW IS ABUNDANTLY BLESSED. HOW TRULY RICH IS HE THAT RESPECTED AND CARED FOR GOD'S CREATURES ! A LOVING GENTLE KIND MAN. HE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED. I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF HIM AS A VERY SPECIAL"
"Jo: I enjoyed singing with Butch. Our voices blended well together.
At the Marty house, Glendale center and at Longhaven. Now he is in Heaven singing with the Angels Band and Marty"
"Jo I want to thank you very much for setting up this tribute for Butch. It's beautiful and I absolutely love the streaming pictures. My uncle Butch was one of the smartest people I knew. He told me how he created his first digital watch out of old broken watches from the junk yard, when he was only 8 years old. He just tinkered with the different electronic pieces until he got it to work."
I know you miss Butch terribly and someday in another dimension you will see him and embrace him, again. But for now, you have to survive the grieving process. In 1984 my infant daughter died -- it almost killed me, but after about a year I realized life goes and good things were in the future. I will pray that you heal and prosper."
""They say when you are missing someone that they are probably feeling the same,
but I don't think it's possible for you to miss me as much as I'm missing you right now"
~ Edna St. Vincent Millay
"Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling in at night. I miss you like hell."
~ Edna St. Vincent Millay"
"It was always a pleasure to see him and Jo come into my coffee shop. I always enjoyed the both of them. Butch was a kind man with a big heart. I would have allowed Butch to do whatever he wanted to do here at A Shot of Java. Butch you will be missed by many. One day we will all be together again. I will honor your memory. Proud to call him my Friend. Until we meet again."
"Butch was the possibly the smartest person I've even known. At eleven years of age we both joined Boy Scouts; I realized how inteligent he really was when our troop memorized the Morse Code. Butch astonished everyone; instead of memorizing dots and dashes, his amazing mind used mental imagery: letter A (dot/dash) became an apple and stem. He learned the entire Morse code in one evening!"
"The Mansions of the Lord are a blessed place, but now they are even better because of the arrival of a great human soul who was literally one-in-a-million."
"Butch - Your quiet dedication to Marty and his music left a big impression, and your courage in adversity is an inspiration. I'm thankful for all your support and encouragement. You left memories that will never die."
""Jo, this is a wonderful tribute to Butch. I wish we could have known him and that so many miles have not separated us. We're so glad he kept you up on the latest techie stuff so we could keep in touch despite the miles between us. Blessing to you, from all of us here in Ohio."
"Dear Jo, I loved the pictures you showed of Robert, your dear husband. My favorite is where the kitty is licking him. I know you both loved your cats so much. I've been friends with you Jo for a long time and know how special you are and I know that Robert was also so very special to you and everyone you both knew. Blessings to you always."
"I'll never forget the pure joy on Butch's face each time he sang a Marty Robbins song at Polo's. His love of music was as deep as his soul..."
"Thank's BuBa for gifting us wisdom XO,XO
Theories by cancer interpreters have merit!
As good as the blind man’s theory of the hallmarks of an elephant!
WISDOM is the Rosetta stone that interpreters need to use to see. The problem becomes who do you show the elephant in the room?"
"Robert was such a delight to get to know in the last few months as he and my boyfriend struggled with cancer in their treatment group together. No matter how he felt he took time to help others at the treatment Center. He came to our house to help us set up electronic devices that we weren't techie enough to understand. Thank you Jo for this great tribute to Butch."
"Oh my Love I miss you so
I wish you did not have to go
I will do the best I can
till I can be with you again
I love you
