His Life
April 18, 2013

Robert C. Ellison, the youngest of 14 children, was born in Pine Mountain, Georgia to the late Sallie and Frank Ellison.  Robert departed the physical world to the spirit on April 8, 2013 at the Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia.

He was a believer in Jesus Christ and joined Trinity C.M.E. Church at an early age.  He was married to Ella Mae (Copeland) for over fifty years.

Robert spent his childhood in the scenic environment of Pine Mountain on his parent’s farm where they grew various crops and raised pigs.  Some of his early life employment included working at Callaway Gardens, Cagle Inc., and a construction company.  He retired as a shipping clerk from the Bonnell Aluminum plant in Newnan, Georgia after over thirty years.

During the Korean War, Robert served three years in an Army medical unit which was deployed to Germany.  He often told stories of the interesting times that he had while serving his county.

He leaves to mourn his loss but rejoice in his memory; one sister, Annie G. Ogletree, of Greenville, GA; two sons, Greg Ellison, of Jonesboro, GA, and Allen Ellison of Seattle, WA; two daughters, Kimberly Reid (Stacey) of Jonesboro, GA, and Betty Jean Johnson of Pine Mountain, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
